gumme, I think we are both interpreting the original question differently. The question was "Will Lowes price match other stores." I interpreted that question as referring to competitors and that was the answer I gave (i.e., Lowes will PM competitors). I think you interpreted the question as referring to other Lowes stores (i.e., Lowes will not PM a different Lowes location).

The thrust of my reply was simply that Lowes will PM competitors and that many Lowes employees do not know their own policy and will refuse a PM.

Sorry if my reply was not clear. I agree completely that Lowes will not PM clearance items at a different Lowes location.

Will Lowe's price match other stores? Didn't make it clear if he was referring to other Brick and Mortar stores or Lowes .
I'm glad we cleared that up. I'd hate to see this turn into a 2 page debate

I assumed he meant Lowe's PM other Lowe's stores as well. Either way I think you two covered both interpretations pretty well.

i may have missed the discussion. did lowes change the way their website operates to look at local stock? I don't see the "check other local stores" option anymore :(

on a normal browser, underneath the add to cart, it shows a down arrow next to your selected store to bring up other local options.

figured it out. they changed the way it displays. Also I was looking at the 2-stroke oil, which is not available at any of my local stores. So to me it looked like they changed the "another store" option and got rid of the inventory info

false alarm, thankfully

12 2-stroke oils available in Southington CT. Not worth the drive for me

Depends on who waits on you . The nice girl at Exeter Lowe’s marked down the 8.98 socket set to $4.00 to match the South Lowe’s price.

I’ve got 4 or 5 Stihl 2cycle oil bottles chilling on the shelf since I switched to Motomix fuel.

Bought 20 of the semi-synthetic Husqvarna oil for $8.01 otd with 5% off to use in my 525LS trimmer, Stihl handheld blower and echo edger. I'd rate it similar to echo's base oil sold at HD. Would of costed me $60 for that in the same quantity.

Reese Wheel Chock

Of course your mileage will vary . . .
if your store has it & IF they can find it.

I know it has happened before... has anyone seen any current special deals on any of the Trex decking boards at any Lowes location?

Currently no. I have about 20 deck boards from over a year ago that I got super cheap sitting on the side of my house. My plan for them went up in smoke.
To bad you weren't closer, I'd let you have them.

This is interesting to me. I know a lot of pricing is regional. Over the last few days, I found half a dozen items that are missing a numeric resulting in 90% reduction in my local area. I've searched numerous other states and could not duplicate. Here's an example . https://www.lowes.com/pd/Valspar-Pastel-Gloss-Anti-Rust-Armor-Enamel-Interior-Exterior-Tintable-Paint-Actual-Net-Contents-31-5-fl-oz/3241014 $13.98 everywhere I checked (in stock) 16.48 (out of stock). $1.39 for me. So, if you guys could weigh in and let me know if anyone is able to replicate. For you math experts. If a price is say 28.99 does 90% off always result in the decimal moving one spot left resulting in 2.89 ?

I'm not a math expert but to answer your question, yes. Think about it this way - if something is 90% off then you are only paying 10%. What's 10% of any decimal number? Just move the decimal to the left one number. $28.99 becomes $2.89 and $299.98 becomes $29.99

It's a unlikely to be an annual thing. When Ellison came on, he cut back on many of the deck boards they stocked..plus they redesigned them with fluted bottoms to reduce shipping weight. It was a great sale though, I bought a couple hundred boards and have built 3 decks so far.

I've noticed this on a few items as well. I have assumed it was just some clearance items getting automatically marked down again. I checked on one of these items and observed that the same 90% off pricing was available a few other places in the country. The chairs mentioned in the above posts are another example. Is 90% off going to be a new, common markdown level?

I always thought it was a mistake, and they meant to do 10% off, not 10% of price. But anyone's guess with Lowe's management

I observed one item go from 75% off to 90% off about a week later. This occurred at different times at two different stores. Seems like a weird mistake, but who knows. My guess is that this is programming by a computer. The items were hidden up in the overstock at both stores, so they almost certainly were not manually marked down.
