I've been eyeing this set for a while, and I know a bunch of you guys have it. I was ready to shell out the money and now it's out of stock, with no ETA.

Does anyone know the OEM on this kit or an alternate source? Maybe there's something just as good out there?e61dcfb5f18f4f692412eb6d89ea2cb3.jpg

Look for 92 and 146pc test lead kits. There are a lot of them from generic brands but no telling if the leads are the same quality.

Those 92 & 146 piece sets are on Amazon.

I also think westward offers a similar set part# 1EKN6 also on Amazon.

IMO it's the best and most complete out there. Reach out to them and ask for an ETA. I'm pretty sure they are the OEM, I haven't seen a similar kit elsewhere. I believe they make their test leads in house, not sure about this item.

Don't forget to get a J-case fuse adapter, it doesn't come in the kit.

That fills in 3 sizes that don't come in the AES fuse tap set. Use a fuse holder with female spades crimped on for an amp loop. Or get the official ones from AES to match.

Then toss in your mini fuse puller pliers of choice, a set of fuses for the fuse tap set, and some t pins.

I figured you'd chime in, thanks for the tips on the added pieces. I didn't even know they made a j-case loop like that.

I guess I'll have to wait on them to get some more in, I signed up to get notified when they have them.

In the meantime, I think I'll grab that j-case loop and the Amazon set you linked.

I've gotten by with what I have for now, a collection of Electronic Specialties and Fluke probes and leads, a few Power Probe pieces, some pieces I've made and my trusty t-pins.

I bought two sets when they were available 4 or 5 years ago.
They are good but not great, none of them match common used race car connectors.

Glad I could be of help.

I will say, I initially cringed when I spent $200+ on freaking terminal tools. Would I ever make my money back? I love that kit. It's not perfect, but nothing ever is. If there's anything I need to check on a car aside from my 2 test lights, scanner, and a meter - that kit is coming with me. If only I could jam an amp clamp in there too.

The replacement fuses needed for the fuse taps are "mini fuses".

I got 3 of the westward sets for $50 each a few years back. Someone on this forum pointed out the deal at the time. The westward set is very useful.

I know its a old thread but for anyone currently stumbling upon this looking for a good kit. The utest kit by AES Wave is the best kit. 4mm shrouded banana lead can be used. The terminals are low profile at the connector end allowing one to fit the terminals in a crowded, tight connector. All other test kits that I have found either can't be used with shrouded bananas(like the ones on a scope or meter) and/or have a large strain relief on the terminal side that does not allow multiple leads in a tight space. I can fit 4 terminals in a 4 pin small connector perfectly while using any 4mm banana test lead I want.
