Cool. Could you give a few more details on construction? Most of it seems pretty straightforward, just curious how you fastened the socket end all together.

The frame is just 303 cut and welded into the general shape. I had some thin wall stainless tubing about the size I wanted and found a junky socket that fit in it snugly. I hacked off what I needed for the socket and had enough meat to thread it 1/2-13. Its retained to the frame with a 1/2"x1" stud, the ratchet attaches to the socket as designed.

I found that exact design once on Amazon. Superior to those spring mount plunger things. Loved it so much... I bought ten and gave them as gifts to family.
Obviously mine is real... and not a ratchet fabrication.

And agree, those spring plunger contraptions are horrible. I did similar with a 3/4" wrench, functional but not nearly as nice as yours! I like to think of it as "rustic" themed.

How do you like your add on bidet?
I rebuilt the head and it was pretty horrible feeling with the low tooth count. Sometime in the last 67 years someone had decided to cut off the end of the handle??? so it was no loss of a fine tool for sure. Better to be used for this than banished to the bin of misfit tools.

I'm not StormcrowAz, but it looks like we possibly have the same brand, Luxe Bidet as he does. They are a very well made and very well supported product. (no affiliation)
Ours are the NEO 185 model. We much prefer the add on bidet attachment to the fancier bidet seat with the nozzle(s) built in. First, it is less expensive. Second, if you like your seat, you can keep your seat. And if you have an elongated bowl, even elongated bidet seats are much smaller (shorter?) so keeping your seat may an important consideration to you. Third, it is slotted and therefore adjustable so you can set it up to score a bullseye where you like to sit and not have to scootch yer bootch around on the seat to find the fixed sweet spot. (some fancier bidet seats do have adjustable nozzle positions, but they also require a GFI 120V outlet nearby and they are MUCH more expensive than non electric versions)
It is a new experience so it may take a few days to get used to it, but after having used one, there ain't no going back, at least for us anyway. With the great TP shortage of 2020, even our kids bought Luxe Bidets for their apartments. I think our sons is the NEO 320 model, which also taps in to a hot water line from a nearby sink to give you adjustable temperature. IMO, completely unnecessary here in the AZ desert but to each their own.

We tried one out in the house first. Liked it enough to get one for the shop, too. A little cool water on a warm day is nice.
Seems like a cleaner experience and while not completely eliminating the TP (gotta dry off) it does reduce consumption a lot. Pretty much eliminates the "wiping a marker" experience altogether. 
And yep, that is a Lux Bidet. Neo 120 model, I believe.

I always thought 2 con rods with a spool thru small eye and toss cap at big end would be neat.
I am pretty sure that you could put a higher tooth count gear in that ratchet. That ratchet looks like it shines...
It had an encounter with the buffing wheel
It shined up fairly well but had a lot of chrome wear. It should maintain the shine decently with a coat of wax on it but would quickly get tea stained with actual use.
I contemplated seeing if there was a finer tooth kit available, but I would probably never use it. Real world problems of a tool junkie with multiple redundant tools.
