Sorry, I forgot to mention it's an F-18 swivel.

CornwellCan anyone identify this bottom box? It’s sitting underneath a Snap On box, so I took a look through some 60’s and 70’s catalogs, but couldn’t find anything like it.

Thanks, Otg. I'm actually a little befuddled by it, to be honest. I don't have any Snappy 3/4-inch drive stuff, so it's the first one I have ever really seen and studied.Ohhh. Thats a nice one.
Looks like this one in the 71 catalog, but hard to say exact year. May be able to tell from the serial number or patent dates.

Made by Duplex in Sherman, NY. One of the stranger stories in toolboxland, Duplex made these externally cantilevered gems for themselves and many others (Goode, Snap-on, Old Forge, etc), but not Plomb Tool Co, for many years, until a fire burned down the factory in 1958. That's when Pendleton bought them out and moved the operations to Ft Smith, Arkansas. Here is a little snap on junior handikit from the 30s.
Roughly speaking. Only the F-6 and -8 were spot on OAL. The F-1 is actually 1-1/2" OAL and the F-9 is actually 8" OAL. The chief of merchandising and the lead tool & die guy thought that one up as a gag. ('We'll have those collectors scratching their dang heads 70 years from now, won't we? Hardy har har...')I paid $.27 for the F-11-E extension I found in the St. Vincent's scrap metal bin today. 1944? ... [ ]... I am a little confused, because I thought the 11 referred to inches, but maybe they aren't talking overall length. (?)
