Impact socket organization

I’m working on making my toolbox more efficient and neat. What is everyone doing for impact socket storage and organization? I’m thinking I’ll just go with the Hansen peg racks like my hand sockets, but I’m not sure if they’ll fit on them. Plus I’m always looking for ways to make it better. Thanks.

My Sunex 3/8 impacts are pretty tight on the Hansen trays, but they do fit barely. If I were to do it all over again might go with VIM magrails.

All my Impact sockets fit on Hanson trays no problem - deep and shallow 3/8" and 1/2" drive, half dozen different makes.

I have the gearwrench copies of the Hansen trays. On the 3/8” Tekton deep set, they are too tight of a squeeze I have to leave the 16mm out. Visually annoying enough that another brand could be better. I kept mine because I’m not ocd enough about it, it organizes me enough. I presume they sized the trays for chrome sockets instead of impacts.

I use Westling Machine billet aluminum socket trays for all of my sockets, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drives. Plus they are made in the USA.

I have the Westling for my 1/2 drive impacts. They are a mix of Proto, Sunex, Tekton and old Craftman and they all fit with no issues.

I have one for my metric half inch impacts that looks like the Hansen trays just bigger. Goes from 10mm to 27mm and fits them all no problem. I just can't remember who makes it now and it isn't marked that I can see.

One of the best ways to go for impacts, especially 1/2" drive. You can do no skips up to 27mm or with a few skips up to 32mm. Space isn't terrible but not as compact as magrails or other closely spaced custom rails.

I have 3 row in 3/8" because it goes up to 22mm. I don't have mid-length 1/2" so I got a 2 row. I stuck with Hansen (Snap-on branded) for 1/4".

In the picture are Westling evenly spaced and bit socket trays in front, 3 row 3/8 behind and 2 row 1/2 in the rear plus the Hansen 1/4 and a few random things. I think it is a pretty efficient use of space but not so stupid crowded I knock something over trying to grab something else.

Was out in the shop and took a look and it is actually a Kobalt tray. Name is on the top and couldn't see it easily for all the sockets on top of it. Looked on Lowe's website and this is the closest I could find to it.

At home I use the Harbor Freight socket trays. The vast majority of sockets fit on them, but I do not have the largest sizes to test.

At work I use Lock-A-Sockets because I can move the pegs around. I keep my most used sizes on the pegs, and the less often used sockets in small cardboard boxes with the lids cut off for easy access, or the original metal storage case they came in.

I work on Ford trucks and Toyota Tacomas almost exclusively, and Chryslers before that, so virtually all the sockets I need are ready to grab.

I use the ones from Rural King for both my chrome and impact sockets the thing I like about them is instead of the socket being upside down it sits right side up that’s one thing I can’t stand is the sockets being upside down on the rails the Rural King ones are set up to where you can set them right side up and $4 for the 3/8 and 1/2 and $3 for the 1/4 drive can’t beat that

Thank you for the pic. They look much better with sockets on them. The spacing looks really good. Most pictures I have seen do not show them loaded like your’s do.
