I got this about 40 years ago from a garage auction that did a lot of alignments.
About 18" long but opening is about 3/8".
One side says "Bear". Something to do with Bear alignment equipment? If so I wonder what it would be for.
The place closed after years in business so who knows how old it could be...possibly 30s-40s?

For straightening/tweaking auto or truck frames for alignment process. Somewhat uncommon.

Yes, it's made for straightening a bent frame rail such as a c-frame that's been kinked in a collision. After using hoists/rams to straighten the frame member overall, this was used to work the kinks out of the frame flanges.
