I got 368 pages of Gearwrench goodness in the mail today in the form of the new Gearwrench catalog number1400. Now I don't want to incite all of the Gearwrench Haters out there so, you should exit the thread now.
It's a pretty good catalog overall. There are a few mistakes here and there and more specifications in measurements would be helpful but, I like it!!
New product sections include tool storage, impact sockets, expanded socket sets and sizes, pliers and screwdrivers. The impact swivel sockets look different than those pictured in an earlier link from Fastenal as they appear to have pinned collars and not be of the pinless design. The tool storage seems to be a mix of Waterloo made stuff with other imported models. They have a new line of red acetate solid handled screwdrivers that are shaped like their current models. I'm sure there will be some hits and a miss or two. I know I'm making my list now for the items I want to try out.The catalog isn't up on the website yet but, you can order one at Gearwrench.com

Where is the link to order a hard copy there Sir? All I see is the link to down load the PDF version. Would be great to get a hard copy for the garage just to kill sometime once in awhile . . .

I've decided that I am going to give gearwrench a try. I was looking at my SO ratcheting wrenches today, and then looked at the gearwrench site. They seem to have pretty decent quality stuff and I figure the worst case scenario is if I hate them, I can just sell whatever I buy to someone on here.

Where do I order said catalog?

Or the *******. That's where all of my SO, Sears, Matco, Mac catalogs are. Sometimes I stay on the pot a little too long because I get "intrigued". ;)

Go to www.gearwrench.com There is a tab labeled CONTACT US click on the tab, scroll down, fill out the request, and in a week or so, the UPS man will drop it off. You can also call their 1-800 number and request a catalog.

Great! I have ALOT of GearWrench tools, and all have exceeded my expectations. In some cases they have become by first grab, when going into my boxes. Excellent products.

If I can't get a decent deal for the X-Beam reversible flex head ratchets via Armstrong. I just might break down later this year and purchase these Gearwrench styled units . . .

I just don't know if I can break the brand loyalty & such . . . Geeeeeese, this is getting real tough! :(

Yes, and they have a much more complete metric set than what Sears is selling. The Gearwrench open end dual ratcheting set runs 8-19mm consecutively.

Are these the ones that have the spring loaded pin in the open end?

Yes, they are. Gearwrench has also added regular open end wrenches, offest non ratcheting box end wrenches, and non ratcheting 6 point combination wrenches to name a few. I wish they would take their flex head ratcheting wrench, lose the open end and replace it with a fixed boxed end. I think that would be a very useful wrench as I rarely use an open end and the Gearbox is often too long for some applications.

Steve,

Can you chime in with regards to why the Armstrong line does not offer the X-Beam, flex head reversible wrenches? :headscrat

I can probably wait until I get mine, but are there prices and does it tell you where to buy?

when are the tool trucks coming?

I would like to see that one day as well! I am very happy with my Gearwrench stuff so far! I hope they keep the quality up for a long time and don't go the way of Craftsman.

When are we going to see these items pop up on the internet stores? Tooltopia is going to have an order as soon as they get the impact sockets on their site! Is there any pricing info anywhere?

Glad you guys like it! We're excited about the new expansion and hope you guys get to try out some of the new stuff.

Thanks,
Steve

Awesome fast shipping on my cataloge order. I ordered it Friday evening and it case today in a UPS priority envelope. Awesome service.

As you know, many of us on this site really love the GearWrench brand. Everything I've bought has been top notch. Right now all of my working tools are in the shop, but I'm thinking of building an all GearWrench set for the garage (the garage, to me, is where the cars sleep. Nothing else.)

I would like to see GearWrench continue to expand their lines. Your prepackaged kits seem great and are aimed at a starter tech in school. I would like to see GearWrench offer a master set with every socket you make different sets of ratchets, extensions, hand tools, etc, aimed at a seasoned tech who wants to expand.

At anyrate, keep up to good work and the innovations coming!

You guys **** for getting the catalog so quickly. Out here in the desert, it takes a week and then you're lucky if 1. the postman actually puts it in your box. or 2. it isn't stolen off of your porch after the UPS man drops it off.
Did you notice the expanded socket sets with shallow and deep sockets but, no ratchets? How about the expanded line of trim tools or the six point wrenches? I ran all of my want list part numbers through the usual online vendors such as tooltopia and thetoolwarehouse without finding any of the items I want. Oh well, maybe in a couple more months.:wtf:
