Interesting that the household projects that get me motivated are the ones where I realize I get to buy a new tool to accomplish.

Case in point for 18+ years we've struggled to keep the basement door open (it has an auto closer) when using the yard. Usually some piece of basement junk has propped it open.

I found this great magnetic holder on Amazon ($66):

The ceiling is concrete. While I have some concrete drill bits, I mysteriously did not have a concrete hammer drill. I do now:

I'm normally a DeWalt guy, but they don't make a hammer/drill compatible with my batteries. Plus the way the products at Home Depot were assorted gave me a headache decoding which battery/charger kit to buy. The Milwaukee unit was more expensive and that means it's higher quality, right? So that's what I got.

The 1/2" concrete anchors were way overkill for this job, but I actually had them some on hand (?!?!).

Didn't need it but I cannot walk into Tractor Supply without buying some kind of tool. Interesting in that it's made with Canadian and Taiwanese parts.

I love the Piquic drivers. You'll find you have to collect them all.

Still in the planning stages for my new garage/shop building, but couldn't pass up a HD deal for a Delta 7.5hp Unisaw w/52" Biesemeyer fence. The saw was listed at $3199.00. The deal was the saw and a Delta 1hp dust collector for $2699.00. Now I have a NIB DC for sale.

Do you notice some slop with the bit fitment into the driver? The set I have in the house always feels a little loose.
Could it be because the bits are just longer than standard bits? Standard bits are only an inch long so the small bit sticking out from the driver doesn't provide much of a lever. The picquic setup is designed around longer bits so the portion exposed and acting as a lever is subject to lateral deflection.

Of course, my whole reason for appreciating the picquic setup is the longer bits, allowing access to tighter spaces. It would be great if the bits engaged by a couple inches rather than just the half inch or so. Of course, the bits would have to be even longer.

Picked up a Pro14XL foam gun from Great Stuff. Normally priced at Menard's for $99, a little more elsewhere. I got it for $48.75 plus 11% rebate and I used a $36 rebate to buy it.

I have a couple of pics but they are on the camera at home.

Like that "Made in the USA" sticker! I need to repair a slow leak in my ancient compressor. Who's blaster is that?

Sorry for the slow response ...been crazy busy lately.

The blaster is a Micro Vapor Hone from Vapor Hone Technologies. ...it's pretty small, but does an amazing job for the money. ...the next bigger one, which I really wish I could have afforded is called the Weekend Warrior, but is more than 3x the price.

Recently got a great deal on a full set of standard Carlyle wrenches. Had to reorganize my wrench drawers to get these to fit.

Only wrenches I have that have "teeth" on them, is this like Snap on's flank drive?

Picked up this impact today for my home toolbox it broke loose axle nuts with no problem I am very impressed much better than the Mech Power one that I got at the pawn shop but will still keep it for light jobs it would not touch the axle nuts though.

At most they probably licensed the right to use the name in their marketing like the Alltrade junk.

Sketchy marketing for sure. They do say the screwdriver was "engineered" my Snap On, whatever that means.

They also tried to use the words "Snap-on" in a descriptive manner in the name of the screwdriver (note the lack of TM notice). Trying to be cute there.

Half tempted to send a letter.....

.....on law firm letterhead.

NP, the shop I left had a SkatBlast 4'? cabinet, now I have none.
I'm payed much better and been buying tools like crazy to make my life easier and then they're mine and not treated like poop by some of the animals I work with now, old shop rocked and I learned more than these guys will ever know.
I probably pick something up later maybe used, it was just so cute and something I could use in the meantime although I seem to be more of a parts changer these days.

I do quite like those screwdrivers and have a few myself. I have a few of them and have given quite a few of them to friends.

If your Harley came with a tool kit chances are that you have one of those. If you traded in your Harley to me chances are the screwdriver is now missing. :dunno:

Here's the size and details

60"W x 36"D x 34"H, Workbench/Table, Heavy-Duty, Welded and Assembled, Dark Gray, 7-Gauge Steel Work Surface with 8,250 lbs. Capacity, 3 Lockable Drawers - USA, T6036-3DB

Would you mind sharing where you purchased (we are both in MA) and your cost? I'd love something like that, even less heavy duty, to replace my homemade workbench.

Some heavy duty casters so I could move it would be perfect.

Got some SK Flexzone deep impact sockets - 10, 12, 14, 16 and 19 mm from Epstein's Day. I already have a set of Snap-on 1/2" drive deep impacts but I like the color of these plus I can have several impact wrenches out and not having to attach/reattach different sizes.

Picked up a Cman 8mm socket to replace the replacement Masterforce one I bought a week and a half ago. The new SBD Craftsman is just as tall as the one from Menards.

Picked up a SO Apollo D8 scan tool for pretty cheap recently. I'll use it for quick scans and light diag stuff. I like it b/c is so much faster then my other windows based SO scanners but it def has its limitations

Picked up a motive tools oil funnel assembly for my wife’s Honda Pilot 3.5 with the stupid oil fill aimed directly at the fan assembly. This goes in the hole but the angle adapter aims the funnel body straight up away from the fan. Also got a formable oil change plastic slip to avoid splashing oil everywhere when I pull the filter

I’m not sure this is for everyone but it will help me out with Honda sway bar links. You need to hold the other end of the nut with an allen wrench to keep the nut from spinning and the allen wrench usually breaks since the nut will be rusted by the time the sway bar link needs replacement. I’m hoping that I can use this to simply split the nut.

A few things from the recent SK steals & deals:

The 1/2 drive 90 tooth flex head ratchet. It's not that long but, seems a bit heavy in a good way. For once, the direction switch moves fairly easily, and the flex head rotates smoothly. I think it was dropped when it was made since there are some scratches on one side I can catch a fingernail on. No worries, that will be my hammer side

I also got the long 1/2 drive locking extension set. They are quite stout.
Lastly, i got the 5 inch needle nose pliers. I think SK used the wrong picture on the steals and deal page, as these are pretty short. The pliers look kind of like western forge style but, I think they're made in the recently expanded SK Factory. The grips have a different feel and the both tips are the same thickness.

Do it! Did an inspection and well within the stated .0002" tolerance. Closer to .0001". Not bad for $35. I'm already putting it to work5afbe7ea2263bec65940f6e0007811b2.jpg
