I grabbed a bunch of items last month, including the long screwdriver set--to match the regular nine-piece set that was on sale last December, snap-ring pliers (with the interchangeable tips), half moon wrenches, and the offset screwdriver set.

I always thought those offset screwdrivers were a way for a manufacturer to throw in a few cheap pieces of steel and make a seven-piece set an 11-piece set for next to nothing. But I have already had to use them helping my daughter fix her sewing machine. That little Singer has some tight screws in there.

I paid $24.99, and now the set is listed at $82.43 (!!!), on sale from $91.59. Ouch.

Oh, and I couldn't resist the socket bottle opener.

I have been very happy with all of my SK tool purchases over the years, both under previous and current management. Some have been ordered direct, some from Harry Epstein, and some were even bought locally, when that was still possible. I am especially fond of the stubby combination wrenches and offset box wrenches.

I just saw this. Decent deal? $10 shipping makes it around $75 with tax.

What do these normally retail for? Ie not sticker. $150 is crazy.

I dunno, pretty much "sticker" from what I've seen. In fact I've been wanting to check out the LP90 stuff but their pricing is so stupid I didn't know if I ever would. I feel like they're taking the Carlyle approach: make it really expensive just so people think it's really good.

At $75 I pulled the trigger. Hard to find deals on these IME. Granted, I haven't looked real hard at ebay but SK doesn't have a lot of distribution channels to get these out into the secondary market and it's boutique-y enough I can't believe they're flying off the shelves just from SK's website. How many techs are gonna take the time to log on and order an LP90 vs just buying a Dual 80 from the weekly truck? Some, but not many.

The 15" 1/2 drive flex ratchet (SK 80300) is $122 at HJE, so $62 is a pretty good price.

Granted the 1/2 drive flex head is only 15 inches long but, at half of what HJE wants $121.95, I think it's a bargain for a US made 90 tooth flex head ratchet. One can always get the Tekton version for $40 that's about the same size though :dunno: I have the Tekton but, still got sucked into this ratchet steal despite receiving less than perfect SK 90 tooth flex head ratchets in the past :wtf:

A word about SK shipping, If you register for the free SK club, you can get $9.99 flat rate shipping or with many orders, FREE Shipping. try it to see what happens with your cart.

A word about SK pricing. The SK hand tools site pricing is pretty expensive so, shop around to ensure you're getting the best deal. I think if they have a steal listed that's 40-50% off their regular pricing, it could be a decent deal.

I've got to quit reading this thread. I'm trying to resist those long locking impact extensions......:eyecrazy:

I have been looking at sk tools for a while now. Just requested a catalog last week. Thanks to -mn700vforce- and. -aspireguy95-, I think sk is going to be my choice from now on.

signed up as a new customer.. used discount code from aspireguy95. And my first purchase of the 1/2 in ratchet and the 1/4 in impact socket set .. all in for just over $75... includes free ship and state tax. Sounds like a good deal to me :)

They did offer me chance to join the sk tool pro club.. was $50/year.. includes 1 free socket every month and free shipping on any size order.. everyone is entitled to free shipping on orders over $50.. so passed on pro club for now, may change mind on that later.. dunno

Great deal on the 3/8 impact swivels too. I wish they had 1/4 deep impact sockets on sale.

I'm pissed, I saw this thread last night while in bed and was like "Alright first thing tomorrow morning, I'll buy those 1/4" impact sockets". Wake up this morning and they gone! Guess it'll be a flex ratchet only.

Paid 68.82 after taxes for the 1/2 ratchet and the needlepoint pliers. stacked a 15% discount code with free shipping. I am surprised that you can use the discount codes along with the steals and deals items. Also needlepoint pliers says sold out on steals and deals page but available on product page so be sure to check the product page even if steals and deals says sold out.

Got the 1/2” flex head ratchet and 1/4” impact socket set. Ratchet has great action. I like that the sockets have the size marked on three sides. Great deals.

"The coupon code "imnewhere15" is not valid."

Possibly in for the 1/2 Flex Head regardless. Extremely good deal compared to Snap-On...

The coupon code is still valid for your first purchase. It still works to get 15% off regular priced items but no longer works to get a discount on "steals". If you only have "steals" in your cart, it will say it is not valid. If you have other stuff in your cart, it will take 15% off the regular priced items but no discount off the "steals".

Coupon code "AdamLZ" will get you 25% off regular priced items but no additional discount on "steals".

Got myself too.

The dead blow was red in the steals and deals, and arrived green. I like it.

Ratchet is very smooth.

Going to put the crimpers to work on a boat wiring project, I have a few crimpers, don't like any of them.

How is that SK one compared to your other ones? Any test crimps done? I don't have any SK (I'm asking if it's good out of curiosity mainly). I did pick up a Knipex one that I absolute love more than any others I've had (including some from like ChannelLock) but can definitely use some more pairs of good crimpers

Anyone who bought part code 1863 metric deep well socket set 13 piece for $50.
The 6 point cut that actually fits the nut/bolt is really shallow, on the 19mm socket the cut only goes down 1/2” into the socket. As the sockets go down in size the cut is shorter and shorter.

Are everyone’s cut like this?

That is how most good sockets are. It tends to bother people who only knew craftsman but in practice it allows you to start a nut on a short stud without it disappearing into the depths of the socket.

You’re absolutely right, I’m so used to my deep well Craftsman sockets that are cut the entire length of the socket. I’m not sure these are going to work for my application. Live and learn.
