Craftsman Ratchet Repair Kits Reference

Does anyone have the little blade that holds the ball bearing in? Some of the repair kits used to come with it. I've tried an index card but it bends too easily.

The only ones worth fixing were the old rounds, the pears are best fixed with the scrap can.

The "Allen" kits sold by Cripe on eBay have the tool.

Use an aluminum can. Thats what I have always used. lol

I am in need of a selector plate for a 1/2 inch RHFT.

I hate to buy a whole rebuild kit and raid it just for this one piece. Of course, I'm willing to pay if someone has an extra in a worn out ratchet, or spare parts lying around after a rebuild.

This thread (Can't post links yet, but the url is garagejournal.com/ followed by forum/showthread.php?t=275801) suggests automotive parts stores or old hardware stores. You'll probably need to bring in your old one to match it up. McMaster-Carr might be an avenue too, but you'll need to measure all the relevant dimensions of the old one.

New to forum. Thanks for posting the reference info! I'm repairing a 44809 (USA) VQ series 1/2" ratchet. The reversing lever is broken. While in the process of disassembly, the ball bearing shot out and is now lost! According to the reference chart, I'm able to get a bunch of em cheap. Thanks again @lordabraxis if you're still out there!
