LOL. I picked up a Stanley USA Workmaster socket today at the pawn shop do you have any experience with those? It looks like it’s decent quality it’s a 9/16 1/2 drive 12 point

Those I have no experience with personally but a co worker has one in 3/4 drive that is a Stanley USA and he has been beating on it for the last 15+ years he claims. So I would say keep it and use it I would imagine it is a Blackhawk made socket branded Stanley.

Lol. Well that’s good to know it appears to be good quality so I will hold on to it probably throw it in the road box.

That wouldn't be a bad idea. I say use it for a while and go from there. Sure sounds like your road box is better equipped then mine is for sockets. :rocker:

🤣 well I do road service for a company on weekends now since the dealership is slow have to make money some how. I have a lot of stuff in there Craftsman USA sockets (which got me banned from Bob Is the Oil Guys forum for mentioning I like Craftsman cause they are all biased over there [emoji23]) and I have Craftsman wrenches and various brands of screwdrivers some Kobalt pliers and some Cornwell snap ring pliers and I do have a Stanley Ratchet in there one of the ones that the head moves on you push the button and it moves all the way around to the position you need it in. And lots of Harbor Freight specialty tools like pickle forks and compression testers and other stuff like that and I have a Fluke multi meter there too so lots of nice things I just wish I didn’t have to use my pick up truck for it so I could have lots more room.

While I don't have any of the sockets, I do have some old Stanley Workmaster (and Professional - with the translucent yellow handles) screwdrivers, and they are awesome! I love the shape of the handles. All of mine were purchased on Ebay, and all were from the 1980's..

I have Proto metric and Blackhawk USA in SAE. My ratchet/socket set numbers are:
Proto:J52222XL
BH: 3820-S

The interior of the twelve points are identical and the exterior polish is the same but PROTO does have the larger stampings.

I notice that the Blackhawk sockets are necked down for some sizes while the Protos are straight walled for all sizes.

The deep Protos are longer than the deep Blackhawks. These are 19MM and 3/4 sockets.

For a few dollars more, the easier to read Protos are nice, but if you prefer necked down, then Blackhawk USA may be the way to go. Keep in mind these may be older generations than what you're looking at.

Thank you for posting those photos! I forgot to mention it earlier..

Yeah that is great! I do family members car maintenance at times plus I like being prepared for anything. And with using your own truck that is good as well for a few reasons. !st you know everything is done right on it and you can organize it how ever you want. Plus the extra weight is better in snow if you get snow where you are lol. Yeah less room ***** but you could always add a truck toolbox to keep everything inside.

Yeah a customer actually gave me another toolbox that they didn’t need anymore. Yes we do get snow here in Virginia usually a lot lol. And yeah you are right it is better mostly.

I wasn't sure where you where from that's why I said that about snow lol. Here in Iowa snow means salt and our nice cars get cancer real fast sadly. And that's great hopefully that given to you tool box is water proof lol. I always loved the sit inside the bed toolboxes not the ones that sit on the bed rails. The sit in the box toolbox is nice because you can load the it heavier and slide it above the rear axles for the winter months and get better traction. I used to do that all the time.

Yeah lol. Fortunately for us we don’t use too much chemicals usually. Lol yeah it held up yesterday in the pouring down rain so I trust it it is the one that sits on the rails though.
