Has anyone owned one of these boxes, specifically the 54"? They seem to be lower-end MAC boxes but USA made. I found one locally that I'm very tempted by, I cannot fit a 72" box (~60" would be my max but 54"-56" fits more comfortably) and love the 2 full width drawers and the 22" depth would be a big step up from my US General 18" depth. I currently have the USG 44" with side drawer set in the older configuration, bought in 2014 and has served me well but the layout is poor for longer socket rails and wrenches...I currently have bit sockets and extensions in a separate drawer and 2 drawers dedicated just to combination wrenches.

Any insight would be welcome. I'm contemplating this or a Homak RS Pro 54" and trying to justify a new box at all

I specifically want at least 1 full width drawer, 2 is even better. The HF 72" has a 54" width drawer but the "socket drawer" on the 54" is no wider than my 44" box. Plus I would prefer more shallow drawers over the multiple deeper ones on the 54" and the ultra-deep one

Gotcha. Didn’t gather that as I read the original post. Makes sense now.

My current setup is essentially a 54" triple bank with an 18" depth. It's working fine but the extra depth could seriously improve my layout...I have a lot of wasted space in my socket and wrench drawers.

None of this is a need but I've been thinking on it for a while and may have come across a decent deal, and I may have a buyer ready for my box if it comes up for sale

If the price is right and condition good buy it.
The layout on the ones with 2 full width drawers is really nice.
They not most amazing box but decent enough if used price sensible.
Is aimed as start out box but you won't find anything in low cost box store brands that has such a decent drawer layout.
They look good, A shop down the street from me has one with red trim and does look smart.
Other plus with known truck brand is resale value will hold better and ownership pride more rewarding .
Used truck brand boxes always smart move just be sure price is sensible as they not that expensive off the truck .

Asking is $1600, I think that's a bit high but I have a buyer for my box if I decide to sell. There's nothing on CL around me with the snap-on name for under $2500 (that isn't a clapped out mess), Macsimizers are the same, and I never see anything between those and old Craftsman boxes. The Homak I'm interested in would be $1300 shipped from Summit without the second full length drawer, but 2" extra depth which may be nice.

Just wanted to get an idea of the quality of the box. I'm not a pro, this will go into my garage and never move around. Not trying to work my way to an Epiq setup just want a quality box that will last a couple decades if possible

yes it be ideal for home setup.
drawer layout is biggest concern, what best drawer layout for you out of homak and mac, i'm guessing the mac ...
It would need be like new for 1600, I would say 1400 be acceptable price for like new condition and it fits your needs perfectly. My Mac man done some very good deals on these below 2500 new . not sure how the double full width drawer over the single version effects pricing !
It always nice own decent tool brand boxes, mine are all older Matco, generally always smarter buy used than new store brands, just don't over pay as it lower end mac model .

If you live in an area that has Menards, check out the Masterforce boxes. Mine is the 56", top and bottom were $1800 shipped to the store. The side cab was another $250ish? Only one full width drawer, but it's 24" deep. I didn't think I would like not having any narrow drawers on the cab or chest but it turns out that I like it better without.

From what I can tell comparing specs, the mac edge series and Craftsmam 3000 series are basically the same box with different drawer design and layout. If the Craftsmam didn't have such a stupid drawer arrangement I'd point you that way. The bit I have played with the edge boxes on the truck, they seem fine. My only complaint is they roll cab is so damn short. One more row of 4" drawers and I'd say it would be a perfect box design.

I have looked at those online but the nearest Menards is 550 miles away so I won't have a chance to see one in person unless I have to take a work trip to the midwest (which is not happening right now)

Good insight on the height, I saw it listed at 38" but that doesn't tell me if it includes the casters or not. My HF box is 40" high and I'm sure that is from the floor (they measure width with the handle included), so if those are comparable it is a rather short box.

And yes, those craftsman boxes have an awful layout. I see one at Lowes here and it baffles me that they make a box that big with only 8 drawers

Just put a tape measure next to one, it 38.5" height measured from ground to surface top .
Seems reasonably decent box, slides not bad and double on long drawer (homak single)
It's biggest plus is good drawer layout, they not most desirable box so used price needs reflect that .

MAC tech series another one that can find good deals if keep a watch and respond fast .
