So back story a few weeks back I was talking to a friend of mine a fellow car and tool guy. We talked about how we used to be able to get these WD-40 no mess pens at the local auto part stores for just a few dollars. I haven't seen them locally in a few years. I looked on Amazon for them and almost **** my self :monkey_po when I seen the going prices on them.

This is one of the options they can be found cheaper and even more expensive.
I mean yes they are handy as hell and as my last one ran out over a year ago I did miss having one. But for the price people want for them now I am ok with out.
Flash forward to today I went to my local NAPA today for a piece of 1/4 brake line as the front brake line on my winter truck rusted out. I went into Napa and started talking to the guy at the counter. I paid for my line and was about to walk out when I seen the "last chance table". It was covered in stuff I was shifting threw it when I seen 2 of these pens covered in dust but full of WD-40 and for fifty cents each. I grabbed them and told him I haven't seen them in stores in a few years. He then said "he thinks they where discontinued a few years back." and as he was cleaning the back room he found 3 of them. He kept one and put the others out on the table.
This made my day and I wanted to share!

That's not the 'going price', that is the price if your stupid enough to blindly re-order from that vendor

I have no clue what the going price is honestly. I simply did a quick search before when I looked as well as right before posting today. I looked on Amazon as that is where I do most of my chemical and lube buying at since it's cheaper. I was really hoping that these pens weren't really fetching that price!!

I've been on just not doing much on here lol. I traded my rusty 2006 Chevy Malibu LT in for a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L on Wednesday. Needed the room for the family and I wanted to switch to a Ford, Honda or Toyota for a long while. It was a spur of the moment thing as the Van was priced really well and is in Amazing shape. Then Friday my phone decided to fry it's self and made me upgrade even though I didn't want to lol.
Just a real busy week last week.
Now these pens are used for a lot of things. I used the for everything. They are for precision spot application and way less mess because it just drips off instead of spraying. I use them around the house and on cars a lot. I used to apply a few drops to the cars key and have it lubed up so I can keep the ignition all oiled up and smoothly operating.

I mean, if there is only one vendor left with them, and they're selling them for $40, then that is "the going price".

But yeah, when things get discontinued, vendors with old stock like to squeeze as much as they can.

Yeah I know it's crazy. I mean I used to pick them up for $5 new. I think that more companies should make these little pens. I know they would still sell like crazy. I don't know why WD-40 stopped making them. I think now once my 2 run dry I will probably drill a small hole near the top and fill them back up and seal it up afterwards. I got into these when my grandpa would always use them around the house and when I would help them do plumbing in the summers with my uncle he always had them and praised them.

I have never used one of these pens, but you might be able to use a refillable marker and a jug of WD40. A refillable marker usually goes for about $5. Some have screw off tips so they are easy to refill.

I don't like GM stuff after 2007. The older stuff is alright. I am a Ford guy threw and threw though.
I now have a Galaxy s10 went from a Galaxy s7. I don't understand why people like Apple stuff. There way more fragile and get slowed down faster.
I suggest if you can find one of these WD40 pens pick it up and try them out. It's worth it!

Cool lol. Yeah after 2007 the stuff wasn’t the greatest for cars especially GM. And personally I like Apple because I feel it is easier to use but it also spy’s on you more so that’s one disadvantage. If I find one of the pens I will pick it up for sure.

Let me tell ya tho that old 2006 Malibu was a great car I would have drove it happily for the next how ever many years till it was junk yard time lol. But Yeah I was raised up a GM guy but I have always loved Fords for some reason. The older I got the more I realized that the best 3 Companies for reliability and over all longevity are Ford for there SUV and Trucks. Toyota and Honda for cars, vans and SUV and there motors are sohttps://www.garagejournal.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=8698046me of the best. Ford has a few real good motors as well as GM. But modern days your best bet is one of the 3 I mentioned. I am by no means a expert I am just going off what I have noticed. Now when it comes to bigger work trucks I think the best best is a tie between the Powerstroke, Cummins even though I can't stand Dodge at all I refuse to own one again. Then worse Duramax. I base this off of cost, reliability and parts cost. I know this part would cause alot of debate and alot of people will argue. I just personally think that. If I was to build a perfect truck I would do a Cummins engine in a Ford body mated to a Allison's transmission.

As far as phones go I have never liked apple. My wifes family is into them because her younger brothers (high schoolers) talked there parents into Iphones. I helped my wife switch and she agrees there better because she has had the same phone while her whole family has had to upgrade a few times due to there phones getting real slow and always breaking. My wife is not easy on phones let me tell ya she has let our kids use it and its a Samsung Galaxy S6 old in phone years. Yet her brothers still say that Iphones are way better. I always laugh and say and your on phone # what in the last 2 years? Then they usually shut up :lol:

I am a Samsung fan after using Iphones for a while I will probably never go back.

Lol yeah I’ll agree on the Diesel engines too. Now I have to say I have had LG, Samsung and Apple and by far Apple has been best for me and it has a glass back so I can charge other people’s phones when I take the case off lol. And I dropped my Samsung at work and the side busted so I was angry at that point now my parents wish they had iPhones because they have seen how well mine has held up. But honestly I don’t judge anyone by their phone or nothing almost everyone at my shop has iPhones. Also I agree on the Dodge lol have seen to many electrical issues in dodge and Chrysler vehicles like my dads Jeep.

I don't judge anyone at all regardless what they like, use or anything. I know everyone has there own likes and dislikes. I just like to give people some **** for the some of that stuff though. It is all in fun.
Yeah Dodge and Crapsler has alot of wiring issues and generally rust faster then most. I have had a Dodge van and while the engine ran well. Everything else on it was constantly giving me issues and wearing out way to fast. I will not buy anything from them again besides one of the Jeep YJ before they where with Crystler and got ruined. Plus those YJ jeeps go for less because people want the circle headlights on there wranglers where I like the square headlights on them plus there simple and weren't over though under equipped like they are now.

made my own years ago ... a syringe and a 16 gauge needle, 'cept we used ATF in it instead of WD-40 - which is basically useless as a lubricant in my opinion

The two on the space station are about to run out! This vendor is betting that they won't care about spending $49.00! I wonder if they work in a vacuum?

Yes I agree on those the square lights looked much better. My dad had a 1995 Jeep I believe it was it had the square lights. His 2001 Cherokee though has given us nothing but issues literally the first week when we bought it in 2005 the window lock permanently got stuck so he could never unlock the windows again (my sister would always roll down the window on purpose so that’s why they were locked) we still haven’t got it fixed because it acts up. Then the engine went bad at 108,000 miles it over heats after you turn the engine off. So it has just been chillin in the driveway since 2014 hasn’t moved an inch lol. Also for some reason the batteries always crack in it after about a year like we will get one put it in then a year later we open the hood to check everything like we do every week at my house and it is cracked again it’s really weird.
