I brought the SK box into the back yard and gave it a thorough cleaning. I started with Grez-Off after reading about it here for degreasing old tools. It worked VERY well. Spray on, wait a few minutes, brush gently if needed and rinse off.
Followed up with some 0000 steel wool and WD40 on the rusty spots. Then a automotive cleaner and some paste wax.
The box really cleaned up very nicely. I’m quite pleased.
I picked up some thin cork liners and cut it to size. Not quite sold on the cork yet but we’ll see...
I grabbed some tools and filled it up. I think this will make a great road box for weekends out dirt biking. It fits just enough to cover most typical repairs without being too heavy.
