Well, it's brighter than my old two-AA LED flashlights, with the tint a bit more towards yellow than blue. Unfortunately, the three beveled edges don't really prevent it from rolling, and the rounded tail cap prevents it from standing up. The casing looks like a darker gunmetal color in online photos, but it's actually a lighter chrome color. A four hour runtime on high mode (400-lumen), and comes with a lanyard.

$19.98 at HD.

Energizer Vision HD Performance Metal Light 400-Lumen LED Flashlight (Battery Included) $4.49 to $11.68

The six-AA is also on clearance:
Energizer Vision HD Performance Metal Light 1300-Lumen LED Flashlight (Battery Included) $8.16 to $19.97

I scored a couple of the Schumacher jump starters @ $22.
I thought they were in the upper bay but those were 8amp. These were locked in a cage upfront.
Thanks for the heads up.

Just picked up three @ 22 and change. This is after searching, and trying to have an associate help (they were useless). Finally just put in the online order, and turns out they keep them somewhere strange (behind CS, Lockup?). Even though website said one, I asked if they had others, and bought all. Two for our cars, and one for family.

So if you cant find them, ask CS.

$89.00 here. My lowes never seems to have these deals.

Juat got the cancel call on the jump starter. Told them to hold on and go check the front cage. Sure enough, he found it.

My store was showing one, so I was expecting to get the cancel call and the "we can't find it". But not long after ordering I got the email that it was ready to be picked up! :D

Got these for $32 usually $132. Couldn’t find them in line and went up to front lanes and asked if they can look at lock up. They found them right away. These are the 1000 amps

A couple good deals.

Dedicated dust collection for the Bosch Bulldog. I use my bulldog a lot but don’t think this is the right accessory for me.

If you want to get into cordless nailing the bostitch 18g cordless nailer and some 4.0 batteries would be a great start.

Just picked this up as my first set of ratcheting wrenches. 20 pc, SAE & metric, made in Taiwan, $50

Kobalt ratcheting wrenches

I saw those in my local store and was curious about their quality. I’m just a very basic at home mechanic so I don’t need super high quality but don’t want them to locked up/etc in a year or so.

I have some but not a complete set. They are OK but I prefer the Gearwrench. That would be something I would buy at that price if I didn't already have others.

Here's a deal if you can find it. It may not be for everyone but think of the older folks or the ladies who don't want to fiddle with gas mowers. I have a regular push version of this and I love it. Three seasons on it and it hasn't skipped a beat. This came through Slick Deals so it may not be available anywhere now... but you never know.

How long do those batteries hold up?

I have a couple of beater mowers that I rarely use, primarily for brush hogging, but occasionally for trimming grass (and sometimes as a backup for the tractor). Having to fix those seems like such a waste of time...

I have a about a 1/4 acre lot. If I keep up on the grass and I cut it once a week I can use 1 battery on the front and a second on the back. (it came with 2 batteries)

If I get lazy and the lawn gets out of control it may take 1 1/2 to do the front and 2 full charged to do the back. But it never fails to start and hasn't failed to cut whatever I drive over.

I know there are strongly held opinions on batteries, but the best way to answer your question on battery lifespan is to say "it depends." A few *facts* about what most strongly affects Li-Ion battery life span:

- Running from full to empty (rather than from full to 75% and then recharging) will have a drastic effect on life span

- Exposure to heat has a drastic effect on life span. The battery heats up when in use, and especially when used hard.

Given the way that many people use a lawnmower, Li-Ion powered mowers may not have as long a lifespan as other types of batteries (e.g., computers, phones).

Many people will run a lawnmower battery from 100% to dead and then recharge and this will drastically reduce normal Li-Ion lifespan. Also, many people will use the lawnmower during hot, sunny weather on tall grass (requiring high power draw and generating excessive heat) and this will drastically reduce normal lifespan. Similarly, many people will store their lawnmower battery in an unconditioned space with high temperatures (e.g., garden shed) in the summer, and this will drastically reduce normal lifespan. When all of these scenarios apply to a given lawnmower battery, it may die a noticeably premature death. This may be why you often read very negative reviews about OPE battery life span.

Thanks. I definitely abuse my walk-behind mowers (and power tool batteries), literally in every way described above. Guess I'll stick with the gas guzzlers for now.

Plus, my primary use for these is off-lawn, where rocks and roots are real problems (and why I buy them, used, for $50 or less to use for this purpose).

Not for LiIon....

LiIon batteries have temperature sensors and essentially cannot overheat.

Many people will run a lawnmower battery from 100% to dead

Yes, that is recommended and won't decrease battery life.

Best advice is to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for battery use and care.

I don't want to get the thread too off topic so I won't post again regarding batteries. I'll just drop a link for anyone interested:

https://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries

Not for LiIon....

The above link explains that, indeed, the life span of Li-Ion batteries is in fact affected by "depth of discharge"

Dh3256 said:

It is true that Li-Ion batteries have thermal protection built in so they don't *overheat*, but this does not prevent them from getting warm at all. The above link explains that a temperature of merely 86F is considered "elevated" and will affect the life span of the battery.

Again, the link above explains that increasing the "depth of discharge" will decrease the battery life span.

I'm not an expert so feel free to disagree  But probably best to do it elsewhere and no longer in this thread.

Unfortunately that source is not reliable and perpetuates incorrect information.

The above link explains that, indeed, the life span of Li-Ion batteries is in fact affected by "depth of discharge"

The site does say that, one of the many factual errors on that site.

I'm not an expert so feel free to disagree

Sadly neither are the writers of the website linked.

Again, the best advice is to follow the manufacturer's recommendations. There are good reasons why the manufacturer's engineers disagree with the website linked.

This 2 pack of tape measures seems to be a pretty good deal. They're around $40 most places. Lowes has them for $20. It would not let me ship to my house so i did store pickup. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Lufkin-Shockforce-Nite-Eye-Tape-Measure-2-Pack-16-ft-and-25-ft/1002769920

I really like these tapes. In both sizes. Great deal. Unfortunately the design of them is majorly flawed IMO. At each foot mark they switch from inch measurement to feet. Instead of 24” it says 2. To add to the confusion the switch colors at 1/2” before and 1/2” after each foot mark. It has led me to many many miscuts and honestly I should have trashed these tapes long ago except they feel so good. Huge design flaw and can’t believe anyone thought it was a good idea

Is anyone else getting a $5.99 shipping charge for ANYTHING on lowe's online orders? I have tried multiple different items, it's always $5.99 for standard shipping, despite the fact the website still says orders over $45 ship free. I even have the little "only $x.** more until free shipping" counter on cart page, and once you pass it, still $5.99 shipping. Is this a website bug, happening to anyone else?

Has Lowes removed most of their online clearance deals? I recently found a Bostitch-Cordless-Finish-Nailer on clearance for around $87 from $399 original price. I looked it up online in brickseek and saw a store a couple states over had 2 in stock for that price. I went to the website and it said out of stock when I chose the store. I then looked on my Lowes app and where I can browse other stores it shows 2 in stock, but then I select the store with 2 in stock and the app says out of stock/not available to purchase online.

I have tried this with a few items that I found clearance stickers with and all the stores locally that have them on clearance wont reflect the brickseek price or the stickered price in store.

Makes me think they are removing online clearance availability and they are going to limit it to in store only kind of like home depot.

Any thoughts on this?

Yeah I've seen the same thing. If you want to know what the future holds for Lowes: just look at what Home Depot does. Lowes business strategy seems to just be to try to copy Home Depot. They've even moved away from their wacky constant clearance price drop model (where items drop in price by seemingly random amounts with no floor - resulting in some items dropping to like 95% off) to the same 25% / 50% / 75% that Home Depot uses.

You could call it the model that Home Depot uses, or just common sense. Though dropping (perfectly good) items to a penny and forcing them into the trash compactor doesn't fall under that thinking.

At least you can still buy clearance online from Lowe's (for now)

Not a great deal but I thought I would share what I found yesterday while picking up a few things at Lowe’s.
Just happened to be walking by and spotted this. I chuckled pretty loudly. Ymmv.

this is EXACTLY what I see on the "bargain rack" at my local store. The only thing I ever see with a deep discount is the most obscure fitting/bracket/hardware piece imaginable. Almost every item is a minor part of a larger system...unusable.

Or does that show the IQ of their customers? I think Lowe’s does that because somebody buys at those prices.
