garage theme tables

I'm looking for cool ideas for a pup style table for the garage. I don't want anything that I can't move, because most of the time the floor space will be used as a garage. But a table would be nice for the occasional get togethers and football parties.

I had originally planned on a conventional pub table, but thought there may be some interesting mechanic/garage twists I can put on it.

Anyone have anything cool in their garage/hidaway?

I found this the other day off Facebook marketplace. I am going to get it sand blasted and clear coat it and then put a glass top on it. It will be in the shop office. I thought it was pretty neat.

I've seen a few out of old engine parts... engine block cores, cam shafts, etc etc.

Saw one that used a rim for the base.

Lis, I've seen you post this before, and I'd party with you anytime. :)

I've actually been considering something about that shape and size that I can wheel up against a wall as another workbench when not needing it as a table/bar.

That just solved my problem. Didn’t want my big vise on a workbench. I’ll make a steel stand and bolt it down to the concrete floor and make a plywood clamp-on table top to extend over to one of the benches that are built-in on the perimeter of my new shop. That way, I’m not letting my occasionally-used large vise waste floor space. And yes, I know I’ll have to clear off the table to remove it and maybe that’ll help with the put-things-in-their-place trip.

I showed that to the wife. She said I can build it, but she's not getting up there. I told her it's ok, the neighbors' wives can... Now I can't build it :(

As long as you didn't have one particular neighbor's wife in mind, you should have been okay. :)

If you have a roller toolbox, any size will do (without a top box), you could temporarily mount a table top to it and wheel it over to the best spot in the garage for the evening's festivities. At the end of the evening, take the top off and put your toolbox back to it's normal location. Store the top in a convenient location so you pull it out on short notice. Just an idea, once you make a table top then anything could be used for the table top base, even fold up sawhorses.

If you have a Black & Decker Workmate folding table, you can screw a 2x4 to the bottom of a piece of plywood then clamp the 2x4 in the Workmate jaws for an instant table. Very stable.

Thanks all, but after thinking about it a little more, I think I am going to make something like this. I had some logs milled recently and have a couple pieces of wood that should make a nice top...although I'll have to either take them to a kiln or wait a couple years for them to dry.

That's beautiful, even comes with a "butterfly". But I hope you have a forklift nearby if you plan to move that.
