here is the thing i just got my first tig welder. and now i feel like a little with a new toy and no batteries for it. so im looking at my options to get a the power out to the garage, already have 120v run out to the garage for a couple outlets and lights, so i have a path and all that.
but, right now we have a 100amp service in the house. with an unused 220v 20amp fuse that use to go to an attic fan, that doesnt work. around sept we are gonna upgrade the house to 200 amp service and work out a better power plan to the garage,
i would rather not wait that long to use the welder though,
so could i use that open 220v and run it to the garage for a 50 amp plug, i know a couple of electricians, and they would help me out when we do it, but for right now im wondering if its doable in that way, or is it a major violation of code and safety and all that stuff.
