bumping this as I just received one of these IR vertical 80 gallon T30 model 242
If someone can help me with a manual and parts list, or whatever is available I would much appreciate it. The unit is like new, It was the backup compressor and I just repowered it with a baldor 5hp single phase 230v. Haven't powered it up yet, still finishing the wiring.

PM Me, I have a couple versions of 242 plus 2340NS, several versions of 2475, and 2545 if anyone needs any of the others.

I tried to get the forum mod to make them a sticky but got crickets:confused:

I'd love some direction with a T-30 with the 242-5d that I just picked up. Something fishy going on with the check valve and unloader and I'm hoping the manual will point me in the right direction. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. The IR website is pretty much useless in finding documentation for these old units. I did submit a request through their "contact us" form. I guess we will see if they can help me out. Or we will see who helps me out faster (IR or GJB Forum)!

I tried the “contact us “ link with ir and it was a waste of time but calling them worked great. Mine was a 242 D3 made for the US government back in 1952 and it took them a few mins but they found the info that I was needing. Try calling them if all else fails

Just to close the loop on this, the local IR Service company had someone contact me today and they were able to send over the parts diagram for the compressor. Nice to work with a company that still supports their nearly 40 year old equipment.
