My ideas are starting to take shape and I’m really happy with how it is coming together. I laid the foundation at the end of September and framing is under way now.

It is a 16’ ceiling and yes they are 2x6 studs. When I was getting it drawn the drafter said anything over 10 or 11 feet had to be 2x6.

Trying to beat the rain and get some concrete and road base down so we don’t get muddied out. We got a little rain the past two days but not enough to stop the work for too long.

I have not done a floor plan layout besides in my head haha. The shop is going to be a multipurpose building. The bay closest with the roll up door on the side will feed into my backyard and will act as a pool house area. So basically the side door will just be opened up during pool days and backyard parties.

I just saw your question, I didn’t realize my post started a second page.

The man door on the right will enter the shop and the man door on the left will enter a locked room. The locked room will also have an entry door from the inside.

The roll up door next to the man doors will enter my backyard and the one one on the front faces the driveway.

They are finishing the rock portion of the driveway. I’m happy with how the concrete came out.

Fencing got done last week. Roofing and siding should be done this weekend. It would have been done this week but we got a good amount of rain last weekend and two nights ago.

Getting close to having the exterior complete. I have never written this but we decided to do stucco on the backside because it won’t be seen and there is less upkeep and more durability for the farm work. The only thing left on the stucco is the color coat. My biggest annoyance right now is that the roll up door company changed my ETA for doors all the way out to the end of March.

Thank you. I have been thinking about this for many years and it is definitely coming out better than expected. It will be a multiple use building. From an open air pool house/party shack to retired parents RV house (when they are in state) to regular storage/work shop.

Just awesome! With the shot of the pool in respect to the building I can see it being a party barn more than a old greasy truck shop! Very nice work! Nice to see what can be done to make a big building fit in nicely too! Your place looks fantastic!

As of right now probably just Sheetrock. I have thought about doing vinyl soffit ceiling and wood and extruded metal walls but probably just go with Sheetrock.
