More like museums than garages. I don't see any cabinets, work benches, welders, air compressors, etc! Not to mention I wouldn't like all of the glass. Too tempting for thieves!

Nothing wrong with a showroom. But I wouldn't call that a garage.

(Nice cars. He should get them out of the showroom and onto a track.)

Actually the definition of garage states.........

"an enclosed structure for housing or parking motor vehicles, especially automobiles"

I think some folks are confused between garage and workshops.

I would bet thieves can't get anywhere near either of those garages. They're probably inside a walled estate far from prying eyes.

The only one's who get to look in the windows are probably invited guests or friends and relatives of the owners.

I agree with Jack, those aren't garages, they're showrooms for the fabulously rich collector.

When you go to a new car dealership do they call the place where they display new cars inside the garage? No - it's the showroom. The garage is the place out back where they work on them.

Have to disagree on this..............all of the places Ive been to call the work area "the shop".

Besides, I just posted my response as per "teh internetzzz".

Go look up the def of "garage" and tell me what you come up with.

Completely agree. The garage is the room of the house where the cars sleep. The place you work on stuff and fabricate things is the "shop"...

Agreed! Chances are they have no use for a functioning "shop" as they were more then likely bought this way with the kind of money it took to build those Temples of Automotive pleasure. I could think of better way to spend on a Man cave then what they have there.

Isn't a 'shop' a place of commercial trade ? thus a workshop is a place of commercial trade regarding work done for money. That building in my backyard...with cars, machinery and tools is called my SHED.
No one askes me " what are you building in the garage lately ?" they usually say " you still in the shed building that car ?"

That's a good point. Personally, I think if the main reason the room exists is to show off cars then I would consider it a showroom. I don't think you even have to work on a car to call it a garage - I don't work on cars in my attached garage but I still call it a garage. Having said that, I agree that any structure or room built to house a vehicle can be legitimately called a garage. But I think we all (at least subconsciously) will subdivide that further based on the actual function. :)

WRONG...The Best garage in the world is the one that you own and have your stuff in

Someone else will always have a bigger, fancier, prettier, more functional space, but the one you get to work in is the BEST
