Yesterday I uploaded this week's video. It was my second barn / shed relocation video. I really like it's new position next to the main garage. It opens up the area in between the garage and the house. That is enough barn moving for the year! I also raffled off and announced the winner of the Prestone antifreeze tester. Check your antifreeze before cold weather! In the video I use the 843 Bobcat along with Project Big MF'er to prepare the area. Check out out of you were following along or get bored tonight. I hope to make it to the garage yet tonight for some weights and potentially some clean up. Its a disaster out there.

Check it out:

Thanks!

Ran the gas out of the mower with the last cutting of my lawn for the year and swapped the mower for the snow blower as access for one spot is easier than the other.
Inspected the blower and the bearing housing looked a little dry so I lubed the areas.
It did look ready to go. I left out the gas for now. Of the 8 years I ran her dry with a pop of staybil, my engines never fail to start when I needed them.

With the weather turning colder I decided I needed some heat in the shop. This workshop heater came to me with a bad motor so I bubba'd a new motor in there from the bin. Unfortunately it's a 240V unit and I only had a 120V motor, and the motor is way oversized (and overspeed) for the application. Oh well, turn down the end of the shaft to fit the fan and add a second cord for the motor and away we go!

She howls like a banshee now and moves plenty of air, but the air doesn't get as warm because it's moving too fast. It'll do, but I'll keep my eyes out for a more appropriate motor!

I've been bustin' **** all summer but have been slack on sharing my Powder **** here lately.

This small block dress up package is for an honored 70-year old Veteran in Kentucky with a '79 Dodge Warlock II.

These always need a lot of metal work. Candy gold and flawless gloss black are typically tough to pull off, especially on multiple cast parts, so I hope he is as happy with it as I am. There's a touch of flake in all three powders (the gold needed a shiny base) ... if it was sunny today they'd be outside for full effect.

Happy Dance!! << wiggle wiggle >>

Discovered I had a screw loose, tightened it...
Although it wasn't quite that simple.
Guess which Allen wrench was missing from the set? (found another)
Took a while to find the blue Loctite, even though I had a fairly good idea which tool cart it was on.
Then decided the general shifter area needed a clean up & the peg could use a cleaning.

5 minute job took 45 minutes, because I decided the other side needed a clean up too. Still need to clear up all the grease/dirt I transferred from the bike to the kitchen sink.
Discovered my 40+yo Draper knife must have fallen & been damaged.

Finally welded in a patch panel in the floor of my F150. Good grief, I really need to practice welding sheet metal if I’m gonna do anymore body myself. The welds look like straight trash. Didn’t realize I didn’t have enough gas flow at first and kept blowing through as well as having the puddle turn into a little mountain. It’s watertight and has been painted but I’m far from proud of it.

I am right there with you. I really need to practice my welding. Thin gage sheetmetal is exceptionally challenging for me. Half the battle for me is determining the correct settings. I have all new floor pans and rockers for my old girl. However I since acquired a whole new replacement cab. The original was a little too far gone.

Made a replacement idler pulley for my sander/grinder. The old zinc unit had a plain steel bearing sleeve that would seize up no matter what I used for lubricant. Made a new one using skate board type sealed bearings. We'll see how it holds up.

Finally had a little time to play with the new to me HF mill and decided that it needed a power drawbar. The 2 wrench fiddle on the top of the machine is a pain and a power option seemed easier. Got it to the "it works" stage and will use it for a bit before I call it good. The parts involved were a little more than a proper spline wrench, but not crazy expensive.

There's something wrong with those pegs. The tips aren't all ground off on a bevel...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Prepped the mower for storage, replaced the slides on my KR657B, hung the bikes on the wall and finally got to play with some Kaizen foam.

guess what I did..
worked on another snow blower!
this time it was mine. Getting an early jump on it this year.
My other blower with the OHV motor - might get treated to some head mods. I might even dust off the flowbench for that.

Polished up Ruby (2008 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4) and sealed her ceramic coating with some cutting edge "new stuff", not really available to the public yet, from Synergized Systems. It is a dealer finish product to be used over their ENVY ceramic coating. Ruby has dealer installed Envy ceramic coating since 2018. Smells like banana Laffy Taffy and a little really goes a long way....I think it made our winter beater look like a show room beauty.
A few picks of the cars in the garage tonight....

Still driving my convertible as there is no salt on the streets here in the upper midwest. They say maybe snow by next week but only a "chance". I will drive her until they have to lay down salt, on the streets...it amazes me a lot of Mustang owners already have there cars put away for the winter, when they could be driving them.
