Yes actually you can.... You can buy the same set with the name "Mountain" on them for $30 less than HF's + 20% off price...

https://www.tooltopia.com/Mountain-...cGXsEqEUn3CFFGzzS_FJvvTYGjpTS4YxoCTHwQAvD_BwE
$30? Sure, you can save money initially but at what detriment? Mainly warranty? How do you warranty the Mountains?

They ARE a popular brand carried by Independent tool-trucks.
Do you have to seek out one of them?
Do you have to send it back to for example Tooltopia like you linked?
Do you have to find Mountain's website and send it back to them?
What's the over-under on you having to pay for shipping when you do have to send them back?
How long is the turn around time?

Point being that, at least for as long as Harbor Freight offers these, they are going to be WAY more accessible/easier to warranty than something like a Mountain or an ATD Platinum with very limited in person purchase points.

*EDIT* Many Tool Truck purchasers are aware and willing to pay their premium for the lone benefit of accessibility and ease of warranty.

Got this CT-630 mini torch in today. I have to say, this thing is super nice. The plastic is glass fiber reinforced and it has a great feel and heft. The bottle unscrews from the top. It's nicer than my Portasol. Pull the trigger and hold for instant heat, or pull the lock with your thumb for constant.
Found it on Amazon and there's an instant $5 off coupon taking it down to $35.

I bought this online from Home Depot, under $25 shipped free. VIM Stubby Hex Bit Set, Metric, 9-Piece. I ran in to a few projects where the stubby hex comes in handy.

I should be posting a M18 Blower and M12 3/8" stubby, but the douche nozzle on FB mrkplc flaked. I was pretty sure he was going to based on his ad and profile, but still frustrating.

Really not impressed with these wooden handle screwdrivers from Germany, it's border line china quality.
I've already fixed one with sandpaper and Linseed Oil, not to mention that 2 of them are bent.
Oh well, $19.99 sold and shipped by Amazon 2 day delivery. lol

Those Felo wood handled screwdrivers get lots of love around here. I've never been impressed with them either.

You seem overly invested in everybody liking the HF version of these? I don't really care one way or the other but you did kind of come across like this...

There are reasons to buy just about all of the versions you listed. For some people it's not all about price but for some other people it is and its for those people I posted what I did so they know there is an even less expensive version of the same tool.

People can make up their own minds on which one makes sense for them.

The wooden handles, is it nostalgia or do you guys just like splinters? In 2020, I can't think of any reason to make any hand tools with wooden handles.

I can't think of any reason why I would get splinters. They're not rough sewn handles :headscrat

Wood handles perform better when oil is on them compared to the plas-teek counterparts. They give a better grip.

The 7mm is the most hàndiest of that set, if you are doing brakes. I have it, it's good. Enjoy your purchase.

You are aware I am the producer of the video in my original post? Or that I mentioned the Mountains in that same post before even editing. Maybe not. Not gonna fault you for NOT watching it, but we're gonna have to agree to disagree.

Happened across this bad boy for an amazing deal. This happens to be my first experience with Snap-on's cordless lineup but I've got some observations:

I also own an IR W7152, but the much newer Snap on is physically larger, heavier and feel to have about the same amount of power.

The CT9075 also has the most sturdy connection to its battery I have ever experienced but I comes with a bit of a trade off because the batteries themselves are fairly difficult to remove as compared to other platforms.

Its also odd to me that mating face at the battery does not matchup with the face of the tool.(check last pic) seems like it was designed to have a different, taller battery. 25703fe4ea407f4b54a19a8c4312a68e.jpgcd91c45662d7dbf1eef1195d4f4afe9b.jpgb79f511ba77ac93aec1adc95f8651a21.jpg

Is that an original Jennings set? I have a Jennings pattern set of double twist augers, but they were purchased in the 1970s, not original Jennings.

Yes, it appears to be an original 13 piece set with the 3 tier wooden box, Russell Jennings stamped into each one and each bit numbered from 4 to 16.
I paid $50 for this set at an estate sale that included a few other bits from Irwin and a few brace bit flat blade drivers.

I feel like the 18v snap-on tools are completely not worth the cost. Other than they look like they can take a beating, they don't top other premium brands and cost more, and the high torque 1/2" is huge

some of the li-ion 14.4v tools are worth getting if you want to pay bloated prices. The ratchets look nice, the ct761 impact is nice. Saw someone post die grinders that must be new. I have an old CT4410 14.4v ni-cad that I got half price years ago. I've now retired it to home use. The batts were crapping out (can still get new from snap-on but cost big $$$), but the tool never gave me any issues, just old tech

Is that the new IR with the ring light on the end? I'd take that over the snap-on all day

Very jealous of your acquisition. If you don't already have one, you should get an augur bit file to keep those puppies sharp.

That looks good, is that a fold out handle for stability during use? Do you happen to have a part number? Thanks

Is it me or does the Snap-On look like the Milwaukee M18 line? Charger looks like the dual 18V and 12v as well slightly stylized different and black.
