Tablesaw Guys - Rail/Fence question

I picked up a brand new shopfox 1851 for pocket lint and bubble gum sticks because it was missing the rails. It did come with a fence though.

The saw is the same as the Grizzly G0833P and I can get the rails pretty cheap, somewhere around $150.

My question is should I buy the standard rails and use the fence I have or am I missing out by not installing something fancy from incra? This is my first table saw and I'm not real familiar with them, just basics from watching videos and my pops.

What I'm getting at is I don't want to spend $150 and find out if I spent $300 I could have gotten something much better/more accurate/etc.

it looks like a pc of angle iron & square tube is all the rails are made from.
you might be able to do it a lot cheaper .
but, it looks to be a decent fence system. how are the reviews on the saw accuracy with the factory fence set up?
I bought a vega saw fence for my saw & really like it .

I feel the same way... Since you asked, and you mentioned the $450 price range... I don't think you can get a better table saw fence than an Incra. Not cheap, but I never regretted spending the money on the one I bought for an old Rockwell 10" contractor saw I used to own

I've only used Beismeyer. I can't imagine anything more durable and dependable. Sure wish they made one for the saw I have now.

I had to make a different rear rail to accommodate the folding outfeed table and to use the SharkGuard.

I've built rails. Pretty simple. The issue is that I don't think that Grizzly used the same dimension tube as Biesemeyer and the copies. Biesemeyer used basically 3x2 angle and 2x3 tube. I think yours came with 2x2 tube. (My Grizzly G1023 did)

That fence actually looks like a pretty sweet set up for the price you paid. I always liked the Delta Unifence system which this sort of mimics.

You might check out Very Super Cool Tools site on making your own rails:

I bought his fence and built my own rails for a Grizzly G1023 without a working fence.

OP says this is his first table saw and is new to them. With that, I would suggest getting the correct rails for the saw as suggested and learn to use it. Someday you’ll want a better saw or can upgrade the fence then. Keep life simple.

Very nice saw! I have a Delta T3 on a unisaw which looks cheesier than what you have on that saw and I love mine. Get the OEM rails, $150 seems reasonable.

the Grizzly system looks very good to me. I have used Biesmeyer, Delta Unifence and Vega, they are all fantastic. The Grizzly looks like it is very similar to the Unifence, that I currently have. Whatever is less $$ is what I would do, all will give you very good service.
