Has anyone used the Proto 90 tooth ratchets for some time? If so what did you think of them? And to follow that up, where is the place to find a deal on them? A lot of places I've looked at online are almost the same price at the Mac Axxis it's based on. If that will be the case, I'll buy the truck branded one.

I like mine a lot. It's smoother, although thicker, than the LP90 that I have. Not as smooth as my Tekton though.

I bought the long handled 3/8" drive. I'd really like to get more of them but I simply can't justify more ratchets. It really is a very, very nice ratchet.

I like my LP90. Shipped kind of dry I thought, but a squirt of SuperLube fixed it right up. I want to try the Proto, but they’re kind of hard to find locally to lay hands on. And for the cost I can’t justify buying one just to try out.

I'm an SK brand *****. But I will admit that I like the Proto better. LP90 is a nice ratchet. Don't get me wrong.

Tuesday I was able to throw a promo code on top of the $120 sale price, bringing it to $101 with tax at zoro.com, I'm pretty sure I was never going to find it brand new at that price. I bought the long handled 3/8" flex head. It shows up tomorrow I think, I can't wait. It's the same as the mac, except for the knurled handle.

I have the long handled Proto Precision 3/8 ratchet as well. It's a good ratchet, but I prefer the Snap-on FL80.

The Proto has a slightly longer handle, which is good if extra leverage is needed.

They're nice ratchets.

Comparing Snap-On dual 80 and Proto 90 --> The head on the Proto is shorter. The thickness is similar. Both have good ratcheting mechanisms but I think the design of the dual 80 internal mechanism is a tad better. But both are good. I like the Proto chrome handle better than the Snap-On and Mac Axis chrome handles. I like the Snap-On plastic handle better than the Mac Axis plastic handle. Price wise, you have to dig for deals on the Proto and Mac ratchets whereas Snap-On ratchets are so common that you'll always find them on Ebay in new and used condition.

I really like my 1/4 long handle 90 tooth, although when the mechanism failed they told me to buy a rebuild kit rather than, ya know, warranty it like they advertised they would. Nice tool, but I'll never buy another. It's not a much bigger jump to just buy dual 80 stuff. Between my "warranty" cost, and the ratchet itself, I already bought a TLL72.

a good longer flex 3/8 is a very good tool to own...great for brake jobs and engine compartment service especially.

I have an old cman bent handle that just started to slip and slop, I've been waiting for it to fail to justify this purchase. Come on monday
