Has anyone successfully purchased parts for the 2727-20?

I need the spur gear which drives the chain, and i can find an exploded diagram which shows it as 32-60-3002.

The usual suspects of ereplacementparts, Tool Parts Direct and ebay are not coming through this time.

I guess I can try Milwaukee directly but my experience calling Milwaukee has been lackluster at best.

Thoughts/experiences?

Much like the water pump impellers sure would be nice to find a more universal part for this expendable....

Following. Sounds like you put some good use on your chainsaw.

Be good to compile a list of generic parts vs Milwaukee for the chainsaw.

I have to put on a new Oregon R56 chain... hopefully that’s the right one.

Also am in need of a new cap for the reservoir.

1-800-SAWDUST. Never had problems with Milwaukee with respect to parts. Sometimes they're out of stock because the container ship hasn't yet made it to port from China but my parts experience with them has been pretty good.

A portion of us are a stubborn bunch. Of course sometimes it doesn’t end well when we try saving $5 on a part and trash a $250 tool. Penny wise pound foolish... heck yes. But hey we donate enough money to Milwaukee to feed our addictions. Milwaukee even encourages some morale hazard here because they would in all likelihood warranty our f ups even when we straight up tell them the sins we committed.

Ahh 50 gauge as opposed to the 43 gauge speced by the standard Milwaukee. Are you sure this doesn’t mess up the sprocket?

It's just more contact on the sprocket, to the tune of a couple sheets of paper width....not sure how that'd do anything but help

My gear shredding trial and error experiences always make me scared to experiment here :)

I do think you are going to end up going the Milwaukee route here. Started looking at various chainsaw schematics (those that use the R56 chain) and the sprocket doesn’t appear to be universal across the board. Think we got lucky on the impellers.

I dunno, I've upgraded chains on several saws. I actually kept running the .043 on my MS180 and still eventually needed a sprocket. Once they get a groove the problem accelerates because the chain is always too loose or too tight.

I'll call Milwaukee. In the past I always get a bitchy secretary type, but maybe if I just ask for "parts" I'll get routed correctly.

I have NO problem speaking with women on the phone and even ordering parts or receiving tech support from women - I just have a problem with immediate attitude even when I politely, calmly explain what I need or why I'm calling

Milwaukee's parts group is in Mississippi and likely making minimum wage. Don't expect the person on the other end of the line to know anything. The way to handle this reality is simple. Call her up. Give her the part number you want, she looks it up on her computer and tells you whether or not they have it and what it cost. End of story. If you need technical support ask her to switch you to technical support. You've got to work the system.

"That part is currently on hold. It hasn't been released yet. It won't be in until the 14th. December the 14th."

ME: oh ok, that's not too far away. That's fine. (ready to place order)

"So you have to give us a call back around that time to place the order."

ME: oh ok. Thank you. HANG UP

She was friendly enough but, damn, stupid business practices.

R56 is the right chain it's a low profile for less power draw,i put a new one on mine too. I am having problems with my m18 saw leaking bar chain oil out of the bottom case vents when it sits, don't really want to crack it open to see whats wrong but am afraid i may have to.

Thanks. Mine weeps a lot of oil as well. My pole saw is even worse. Think the trick might be laying it with reservoir down or draining the oil every time, but who wants to do that.

{snip}

Ok I was wrong on the part #! I had apparently interpreted an internal motor gear to be what I needed! Still, a bit odd because on my first call they said it'd be available 12/14, and today they said it doesn't register as a good part #

Regardless, they transferred me to tech support and this also forced me to re-evaluate the exploded diagram online. Looks like the correct part is 45-44-4002.

Cost was under $6 ea much to my surprise and I ordered two at that price. I spoke with three different people and they were all friendly and responsive, so I'll have to stop bitching about their phone service!

That’s cheap for Milwaukee parts. Glad you got good phone service.

I'm an arborist so I'd go straight to my saw repair shop to get the right sprocket. It's likely made by Oregon not Milwaukee. Find the shop where the professionals get their work done. Call an arborist to find out.

Quoting myself......these NEVER arrived. Fortunately, I was also never charged but months later I remembered about this and no charge, no call, no notification, no parts

Fortunately between last year and this year the drive sprockets are now readily available on ebay. I fully realize the dealers on eBay are getting the parts from Milwaukee, so perhaps they know the secret handshake I do not.

Regardless, the secondary market solved my problem. I ordered on ebay, less than a week later the parts were at my door. Problem solved

Thanks for the update lgn. Ebay to the rescue again. One of the few times I've heard Milwaukee customer service not pull through.
