A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single screw...
~Confucious's wife, 500BC

I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that before, somewhere, maybe, or maybe something close to that, or maybe I just dreamed it, or...isn’t that a famous quote?

Oh dang, I’m all confused now:dunno:

Hey, come on down to Tallahassee and build me one of those. I can't get a concrete contractor to even return calls. Probably called 20. Tried several GC's, same thing.

A long way from LaConner to Kentucky.
Has Covid decreased traffic on 1-5?
We’re pretty much back to pre-pandemic traffic levels here in AZ.

Luckily I still have the N Seattle house, although it’s pretty empty.

At 5AM, it’s only 20 minutes away from the job site.
Going home can ****.

Merry Christmas Riv, I used to work in Everett so I had a reverse commute and I used to wonder how all the people heading north for the afternoon commute could do it. It was usually bogged down if not bumper to bumper.
Meanwhile I was zipping by in the southbound lanes with only a small hiccup in Lynwood.

Merry Christmas Jay!

I remember back when there was a reverse commute.
Seems it clogs up both ways pretty equally anymore.

Best bet is to leave early

Hope y’all have a great Christmas, and a nice, stress-free weekend!

Ranger and I got a long, frosty morning walk in this morning, before the rain comes in tomorrow.

I've been meaning to photo a project start to finish, but I always forget and before you know it I'm half done with no pics.

I ended up with an amazing piece of vintage cast iron, and I've been thinking about what to do with it for a couple months.

I'm pretty excited to see how this one turns out.

Project: Bar table.

1) Landis Shoe Stitcher Base

2) **** load of clamps

3) Top getting fitted to base
Great post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moved the Gheenoe into the shop for some minor repairs.
No need for a hole in any kind of boat:willy_nil

But first I had to smoke some pork loin.

All in all, it turned out to be a great day!

I got a couple minutes to work in the shop this morning before the wind knocked the power out.

Just as I was getting situated for a nap on the couch, the power came back on.

I chose to ignore the fact that the power was back on, and continued on with my nap. Mostly, because fiberglass work just isn’t that much fun.

Glad to see you're starting 2021 making good decisions. :D

Tool/Puget,

It’s my day off, and I can nap if I want to!

Somebody should write a song

Oh, I can be a diva if I don’t get my sleep, or a Snickers

An inch and a half of rain and 45 mph winds on my day off makes me a bit grouchy too!

You would really enjoy our slice of heaven, up here at 64 degrees north!
Hang in there, the days are getting longer, I tell myself.

Royce

I grew up at latitude 58, so this is just water off a ducks back for me.

Y’all up further North are a tad crazy

I can stand in the shop drinking coffee all day long, and be happy.

I was looking forward to getting one of the 3 boats out of the shop this weekend.

Oh well, there’s always next week

This is my first winter in retirement and I'm struggling with this like I thought was going to happen. Coved restrictions aren't helping any either..:headshake

Jay

COVID can go away now.

The weatherman was wrong about today, the clouds parted, and the wind died down.

I was able to get the Gheenoe out into the driveway to finish the prep work and a couple coats of glass.

Then on to some maintenance/winterization of the big boat.
RV antifreeze, stabil in the fuel, batteries on the trickle charger, fan set up to control condensation. Still need to fog the cylinders.

Never a lack of things to do around here:eyecrazy:
