Like the title states, when is the m12 gen 3 stubby a coming? I'm in the middle of swapping back to Milwaukee and just bought the right angle impact, the new mid torque, sawzall, grinder, and 1/2 drill. I was gonna hold off for a bit if you guys thought the new gen 3 m12 stubby would be out before long, but if it's gonna be awhile I'm just gonna go ahead and get the gen 2. I would go with the M18 gen 3 but I like having the small m12 battery for tight to fit spots

I'm just assuming there was since the M18 has a gen 3. Maybe I'm after the gen 2 then

Isn't the current Stubby relatively new? (couple years?)

I'd guess they'll get a good long run out of the tooling/etc. for the Stubby and then give it a mild upgrade, mainly to add the tri-light setup and align with the design language of the recent introductions.

I kinda doubt there will be but so much performance improvement, though I'd be pretty happy with closer to 300 ft.-lb of torque and maybe the same Auto-mode the Gen2 Mid Torque has.

As it sits, the Stubby is a pretty great tool - I use mine a ton.

If you really need something small that packs more of a punch, the M18 Mid Gen2 is pretty damn awesome and will go in maybe 90%+ of the places a Stubby will...

The tri light is kinda what I was after. But i guess I'll go ahead and order it up. Anything is an upgrade from my 8 year old Dewalt that's been through hell and back twice.

Is there even an M12 Stubby gen 2 yet?

Yes and yes ! I would not expect a replacement (Gen 2) for a couple of years.

Too many people turn up their noses at the M12 line. It is fine for DIY/Home Owner use.

I wish the Milwaukee M12 "screwdriver" actually looked like a screwdriver ! One speed would be fine. Skip the brushless to keep the cost low.

Yeah the stubbies just came out 18 months ago, dont expect Gen2 for at least another 18 months.

The M18 Gen3 impacts took like 8 years from 1 to 3
