I saw a commercial on TV today looking for new Matco franchisees. I watch a lot of drag racing so it really didn't phase me. Then I realized I was watching baseball. Are they trying to keep from going out of business? Are they just trying to increse sales? I haven't seen a Matco truck in my area for 3 or 4 years but I did see they were looking for a new franchisee about 20 miles from here last year in the newspaper. Not at all familiar with their tools.

I used to really like them, but the Matco rep stopped showing up (he's still around, just stopped showing up at the shop). About he same time a co-worker bought a set of SAE combination flare nut/open end wrenches that said "Made in Taiwan" on the package. :wtf:

I realize its not the most popular wrench set and they probably don't sell that many, but still! Danaher can't find a US factory for those? Cheapa$$es!

Good ratchets though! (and screwdrivers!)
