I know this is probably insignificant to everybody but me, but:

I finally found my last two Xcelite nut drivers that I was looking for (in the HS series)! Good lord, it took forever to find these two. And to find them in mint condition?! I am thrilled! Yes, I am that easily pleased.

I love me some Vaco too. I found a NOS ratcheting bit-holder driver, and a battery-powered continuity tester the other day too. Both are pretty hard to find too.

Seems like every year or so I go on tool buying binges and I like really old Micrometers and other stuff like that. I managed to hit on a couple of auctions at fairly low prices and got a couple of piles of Starrett and B&S projects although a couple of them look pretty good. Please tell me there is nothing wrong with accumulating 30+ vintage micrometers..... I do use em. I do like the B&S #1 with the Carbide faces and I guess a good boxed 436 series 1-2" is always nice to keep around. The Slocumb darn near completes a range set of them up to 6". The Crapsman looks unused almost and is probably just as good as the rest. Thinking of putting together a package of a few of my duplicates for a cousin that could use em so the pile doesn't get too deep!

ordered a Wright 9180 from Amazon. Both the catalog, and the Amazon listing, show a translucent handle similar to the old Upson drivers. This is what arrived. I called Wright and they said they make 2 different styles of handles. Not sure if I am going to return it or not.

All I know is everything I’ve read about the Pacemakers has been overwhelmingly positive. It swings more than 14.. more like 16.5 or so from what I’ve read. There are videos of guys doing 1/4” depth of cut with these lathes. It’s a brute.

Sounds fantastic! I mean, hey, if you have the power to run it go for it! I'll have to look up some videos of one running.

Thanks to Sweet Victory for this idea.

Snap-On stubby 4in shank #2 screwdriver.

I grabbed a cheap stubby screwdriver from ebay (didn't want to pay Snap-On online shipping) and a #2 Williams from Amazon, pulled both shanks and combined the parts to make a hybrid. I forgot to snap a photo, but the Williams #2 does in fact have a Snap-On branded shank in it (marked with the S logo and #2 under the handle).

Compared to the normal stubby.

Solid!!!!! I like

BTW: The Snap On truck will be here in about an hour.

Nice job! If you’re looking to buy them, PB Swiss offers them in 4 sizes:

I want the translucent version. Period...

I called again today and the lady on the phone was less than helpful.

"we don't sell on amazon"
"It's from abalox"

"I talked to someone in the plant last night"
"they don't answer phones, I don't know who you talked to"

basically she was like, products change and we can't control what the seller puts as the photo, sorry for your luck (nevermind that Wright's own catalog shows the translucent handle on all of their screwdrivers)

The customer photos show the solid red driver and some of the customer reviews claimed it was an import. Do you know if they are still made in the USA? Was there a COO on the driver or packaging?

The first guy I spoke to at the plant said they are made in Ohio. There was no packaging, just a screwdriver in a padded envelope...next time I will check the reviews first!

I emailed Abalox Tools asking why I didn’t get what they show on their site or Amazon.

My opinion, you're wasting your time. Generate a return label via a not as described claim and dump it back in the mailbox. Either Wright switched to junk or someone is doing a terrible print screen job on $1 Chinese 4in1s. For nearly the same money you can just buy a Klein, which i'm sure you already have but just making a point on price vs quality.

They use to come in translucent red and a solid black. Those are (were) the two colors.

I think for fun i'd a take a little brake clean and see if the labeling comes right off. Should be indicative of it being made for work or for scam.

Lastly, that Abolox site looks like one of those grey market drop shippers that stocks nothing. I wouldnt be surprised if a more legitimate seller like Summit or Toolup sent you what was pictured.

After wanting a set of extra long double ring wrenches for a long time I finally got myself a set with a little holiday gift money. I got these after finding a recommendation for them on here and ordered them through Amazon Japan.
Haven’t had a chance to put them to work yet, but I think they’re going to be great!

I’d post a picture but apparently I’m to new to do that so go look at the new tool album on my profile if you want to see the set I picked out

I looked at summit and they don’t stock it. Says drop-shipped from the manufacturer.

US General 44 tool cabinet and top chest. I outgrew my HF 5 drawer cart so picked up the 44" tool cabinet. Was very impressed with it so the next week picked up the top chest for it. I was looking at a used snap-on locally but it was 2k and a bit of an overkill for my needs. I'm not a professional so it just sits in one place in my garage. I think the quality is very good for the price.

Picked up a new 48” long prybar today. I’ve wanted a straight shank round prybar with a pointed end for a while and picked up a Carlyle today from my local NAPA.

That looks really handy. I could have used this getting suspension stuff apart and back together.

I liked the 3/8" drive so much I bought the 1/4" sibling for 75 off of Amazon for being an adult, and paying verizon my phone bill. They send me $3/mo to amazon, it adds up.
IMG_20210114_145707838.jpg
To round out the 1/4" collection, does anyone have recent experience with a 12" sk fixed 12" handle in 1/4" drive?

$75 is a good price for that 1/4.
