I want to get a KRS roll cart but I can't decide between the 32" or the 40". I'm curious if anyone that has one or the other that found the 32" was maybe too small and you wish you got a 40"? Or maybe you have a 40" and you wish you got a 32" because the 40" is not as easy to maneuver as you thought it would be? Or any other problems you've run into with them.

I'm also having a hard time choosing a colour! Are their any colours that look good in the picture but you regret when you see it in person or vice versa? Maybe throw up a picture if you have one handy.

Not a Snap-on but similar, I had a Matco 35" MSC4 cart (full drawer), and traded up to a 40" JSC753 cart (also full drawer). Significant improvement overall, not really an issue with shop maneuverability per say (every shop is different), but I'm considering a getting 36-40"-ish tool box to use as a cart instead.

The only big difference other then size is the JSC cart doesnt have all four swivel casters. Four swivels may get a bit squirrely with a bigger box depending on the floors involved.

Depending on what tools you use daily or the most, I would say plan out what is going where and leave some room for expansion. I've found this can help.

IMO 4 swivel caster is suicidal in any shop I've ever seen. Maybe in an aircraft hanger, but there's no room to move in auto shops. Add in steep slopes and hundreds of pounds of tools and it's just asking to ram into a car or tip over when it rolls into a 2" deep crack in the floor at 15mph. My montazuma cart came with 4 swivels, and it was WILD to try to push around even unloaded. Granted, my shop has very steep inclines and fairly destroyed floors.

32 vs. 40 is more of a function of how much stuff you want to jam in it, and what you're used to now. Looking at the website, it's a $250 difference to gain 8" of length. I have a hard time imagining many spaces where identical height and width, but 8" in length, would limit your mobility. Width is the big killer, where I work the lifts are so close you have to turn sideways to walk between them.

I'm boring, and prefer classic snap on red.

I went thru this before I got my krsc246 a few years back. I liked the idea of going to a smaller cart but didn’t want to lose to much space. I ended up with the krsc246 that I replaced one of the 6in drawers with 3 2in drawers and it has worked great. I believe snap-on is selling the 36x24 cart as the krsc242 model now but same cart.

This may be the ultimate cart configuration. I have looked at the older biggger cart krsc46 I think are numbers. I thought the newer car was nicer but did not like all the tall drawers. This is a very nice layout. I could put most of my most used tools I there. Great idea and execution!!!

Thanks. It works perfect for my needs. It wasn’t cheap swapping the one 6in for 3 2in but well worth it and my snap-on guy is awesome so he was able to soften the blow a little.

Where and how did you order the drawers? And how much were they?

I ended up ordering thru my driver but I got all the part numbers on line. I think I ended up paying almost $600 for 3 drawers driver threw the slides and trim in free. Drawers do not come with the plastic drawer catch, slides or front trim. Here is a link to the new boxes parts. If you have an older box snap-on customer service can look the part numbers up for you. If you want a green 6in drawer I have one in excellent condition lol.
