Finally getting started on my and wife's hobby/workshop/do all building! :)

Size will be 36x60x10 with a 12x60 lean-to on the back. Will also be a complete width vaulted ceiling (for the 2 post lift/lifts ;) ).

It's been a LONG road, started way back in October of 2019 with site prep.
1200 cubic yards of fill dirt, tree removal, and drainage fixes.

Yesterday the building pad needed an additional 30 loads of fill. :shocking:

So all in, I have 105 trucks carrying 16 to 18 yrds. of fill. 1785 cubic yards. Needless to say, the pocket book took a hit. :(

Here are a few pics. I'll post more as more stuff happens.

I feel your pain on the fill dirt tonnage. When I leveled out my site for a 30 x40, I had one corner down 17". 55 tons later , I was leveled & packed. Fortunately, my neighbor had dredged his pond a few years before during a drought, so the fill was close & free. I borrowed a dump trailer & lost track of how many 1 mile runs I made in the old F250 diesel

It looks like your lot is fairly level. I’m surprised it took so much fill. Shows what I know!

Thanks guys

It is fairly level now. lol

The area where the sod is from the build site toward the highway took most of the fill. One area has nearly 6 ft. of it. I need to find the before pics although they don't quite show how much was really needed.

Better high and dry than low and soggy! Lookin good.

Yep, that's for sure!

Costly for sure, but you'll never regret it. We'll, you may regret not going higher, but not going as high as you did.

I'm close to my max now, next project will be adding seawalls on the east and north sides of my property. I'm just tired of the damn water. :(
Last two hurricanes that passed by, flood water came dangerously close to getting into the house.

Hey, that's my county too! Hi neighbor!
