I have orders that I have received months ago still listed as pending.
I still have not received my Dec or Jan SOTM and have yet to see the items I ordered last week. All still show pending. I had to get them to redo my account as it didn’t renew correctly, so December SOTM code wasn’t working. Then I did not receive an email for Jan SOTM but the code worked anyway. Actually I haven’t had a renewal go right yet, both of them I had to get someone to fix it.

I have experienced most of these issues, too. :dunno:

I sometimes wonder if Epsteins or Cripe buys up any of the SK deals.

Yeah, it's been a few days since they've been down. I wonder if they add them to the next month(s) steals & deals. Hopefully the new batch comes soon, though not too soon or my wife will cut up my credit cards

If only it worked that way. She's the 'budget master' in our house. Not that I'm not capable, just that she finds far more joy in creating insanely thorough and complex Excel macros/graphs/etc. and charting it all it. Her little program blows Mint and all those other tools/software out of the water...and is so much simpler to use. Unfortunately, it means she knows where every penny goes - including when it comes to tool spending. Need SK to change their billing name to Meijer or Kroger or something so I can say we just spent a lot on groceries

Saying "I'd be stupid not to buy them at that sale price" hasn't seemed to work on her yet. :lol_hitti

On Facebook on the 5th, they posted:

"Get your Steals & Deals order in while you still can, this round ends today! New Steals & Deals will be available in late February."

This SK company ***** balls. I had ordered a 33" impact extension 1/2" drive to 3/8" drive on Feb 2 from the Steals Deals promotion.....three days ago I tried calling and emailing to inquire about the status of my order. I did not get anyone on the phone during their business orders (call goes straight to voicemail) and my online inquiries went unanswered. Then the day after I get a Fedex shipping notification from SK. Great, my extension is on its way.

Fedex shows up this morning and delivers my package. I pick up my package from my porch only to find it is empty and both sides of the shipping tube are partially opened. Of course I'm pissed so I call SK again during their business hours. It goes straight to voicemail.

I would never buy anything from SK again, no matter how good of a deal it is because if they are so screwed up with the way they handle inquiries, imagine trying to warranty an item. I get the whole COVID-19 thing with companies operating sometimes on a skeleton crew but if this is the way SK operates, it's not worth the frustration and I would dread having to file a warranty claim with them.

I already filed a claim with Fedex. As a backup if the Fedex claim gets denied, I will notify my credit card company that goods and services were not received and ask them to do a chargeback.

I ordered a ratchet on 1/31 that I still haven't received. I called yesterday and was told I'll get a notification today about shipment. I've ordered from them before and received my stuff within a few days so it may be just an issue with this batch of deals. Maybe they were overwhelmed with orders or something because the Steals and Deals just disappeared one day even though it showed items still in stock.

I have placed several orders from SK in the last year. Lots of great deals from the steels and deals section. I never get shipping notifications. Some items arrive within a few day’s others take a few weeks. I have never had a problem with items missing from package. I emailed customer service about a rebuild kit for a ratchet about six months ago and got a response the next day asking for my contact information to ship kit I needed. The rebuild kit was shipped to me within a week of contacting them. I will say they don’t have a great shipping/order processing system in place but if you know that ahead of time and aren’t in a hurry to get your order you can get some great tools at great prices. Skernv99 It’s too bad you had a bad experience as I have always had good customer service from SK. Hopefully they get things straightened out for you.

I agree with everything previous poster said. SK is NOT Amazon Prime. They have always gotten back to me on any inquiry (email or phone) in a timely manner. I do get frustrated with their website search function (but I do that with Amazon and others too), and I don't understand the reason they ship orders in so many different boxes - but I always get what I order in a reasonably timely manner - and it's always great American made tools. That's what matters to me - not how fast I get it - or when I get a shipping confirmation, etc. I'm not living or dying based on these purchases, so it gets here when it gets here. I bet if you really NEED something and called and ordered it next day air, you'd probably get it pretty quickly. Maybe not TOMORROW like Amazon. However, that's not what Steals N Deals is - it's bargain shopping for addicted tool guys like us :)). It may take a while, it may be back ordered, it may ship in 4 separate boxes. BUT in all of my cases - it arrives. Great tools, great price. I'm happy and I can't wait for the next deal to be posted.

The five things in five boxes is what gets me. reminds me of Sears

On Jan. 31 I ordered the ratchet, a chisel, torx screwdriver, bolt rattler, and a pair of gloves from the steals and deals. It finally showed up today, the 12th. Of course, FedEx left the box outside and my wifes idiot kids dog tore the hell out of it. I can't find the chisel or the bolt rattler. 4 more inches of snow is falling now and it's -13 degrees out. Maybe in the spring.

I was lucky to get my extension. SK put the plastic end cap on one end of the shipping tube with tape but, they only used tape on the other end and the tape failed and was mostly gone at delivery. If they would have used an end cap on both ends or better yet, put some of that brown paper they use as padding inside the tube to keep the extension from moving around, it would have been more secure. Sorry for your loss.

So, it would seem we're not going to see consistent steals and deals in 2021.. They're certainly off to a rocky start.

They had S&D in January, and February isn't over yet, so they are batting a perfect 1000 so far in my book?? Not to mention offering us Black Friday discount and 12 days of Christmas the two months prior to that. I enjoy S&D as much as anyone, but I don't watch the calendar daily for it. Nor do I get upset when it hasn't happened in a timeline that I deem appropriate. When it happens I'll get an email from them, a post on their FB page, several notes on this forum and several posts on the SK FB collector pages :).

I'm not sure what SK gets out of the steals and deals. It seems like there are a lot of complaints and they can't be making much money off of the venture. Seems like a net negative. Maybe they'll just get rid of it altogether.

I would not be surprised if you were right?? I just don't understand. There is a lot of SK bashing on FB groups for same reason it seems? I consider S&D to be a "bonus", not something owed to me. When it happens, and it's something I can use (or think I might EVER use LOL), I'll buy it. When it doesn't happen for whatever reason, oh well - it will likely soon...... I don't believe they have ever promised S&D EVERY month by the 5th or 10th of the month, have they? I'm just happy to have a deal whenever it comes along on quality, USA made tools!

I was able to get a hold of someone at SK, after letting the phone ring for almost 10 minutes straight. Finally someone picked-up and I politely explained what happened. She ended up sending out a replacement and after two weeks from when I called I just got my replacement today. A great price on a 1/2" to 38" locking 33" impact extension, but again, this very slow almost non-existent customer service puts a bad taste in my mouth.

And whoever they hired in the shipping department needs a few more brain cells on how to properly package things because again, there was a hole about to bust open wider because they did not put any cushioning to prevent the ends of the extension from poking through. I don't want to experience what it would be like t warranty something through SK.

Is it me or is SK an American manufacturing company that has all the bad characteristics of a Chinese manufacturing company? Bad/non-existent customer service, spotty quality, bad shipping...

I get that the cost to keep manufacturing in the US is high but there is also so much more to it. Idk thats just my impression.

I have had excellent customer service from SK the few times I've needed it. In addition all of their tools I have work great.

I think they hired all the folks laid off from Sears to work in their shipping department...

The gloves are $7 more this time than last time.

Nothing too great IMO except for maybe that 3/4" set if you can use it and the LP90 ratchet.

I agree, it's very poor ATM. My order took over month to get here (no tracking, which isnt a big deal for me). I heard they were taking a while, so I expected it. But when my order arrived, they had parts mixed up, gave me a 3/8" version of something I wanted in 1/2" (wrong tool, right part bag). I tried calling, no answer, goes to automated answer and hangs up. I've emailed them once a week since I received it (going on 4 weeks now) with also no answer. Very frustrating to not get an answer.

That was likely a while ago. Currently they don't answer the phone or emails.

If anyone is in a rush, I'd stay away from ordering directly from them.

FYI..."DONUTS" gets you 25% off one item (your highest priced item).

Got the LP90 ratchet, shipped (free), and tax-in for a whopping $41.33 using DONUTS.

Probably for the best the code applied to only one item - saved me from buying more stuff I don't realllllyyyy need.

^^ Yes ! I picked one up one of the 3/8 ratchets too. Nice deal.

Hoping to cut down on swapping sockets when I need multiple at a time.

if you paid by credit card direct, you should call your card to do a chargeback. I have done that a couple of times with other merchants where either I didn't receive my order or they screwed something up and I could not get it resolved. The credit card company will reach out to the merchant to inquire and if the merchant does not reply back in a certain amount of time, the credit card company will do a chargeback.

if you paid by paypal, I would contact paypal and file a dispute.

I think some of those "steals and deals" are pretty good, but SK customer service left a bad taste in my mouth.

Not a good sign. I warrantied a socket a couple months back. They responded to my email in about a day and I had the new socket by the end of the week.

I DEFINITELY don't need any more ratchets. But for that price with the coupon code (Thanks!) how could I say no? Also figured the 12" extension for $13 was worthwhile - and coincidentally that is how much is taken off the price of the ratchet with the coupon code.

I bought the same to get the free shipping (web site was showing $9.99 shipping if under $50). Thank you for the coupon code!
