These look handy. I priced them on Amazon at $11.64, but also noticed they were being sold by Bowers Tool Company. Bowers is a new find for me, and the Knipex vinyl protectors are $9.99 there (free shipping with >$49 order. Bowers has good prices, the owner is a very nice gentleman to talk to, and they specialize in made in the USA tools, plus a couple of German tool companies (Felo and Knipex).

Bowers Tool Co. brands page. A high quality tools store.
I grabbed a set too $9.99 shipped, they'll come in very handy.

I very much doubt it. When those started popping up on Ebay they didnt fit anything exactly right. On some tools they completely enclose the cooling vents (m12 die grinder). They want 2/3 the price of the real boot (still expensive) and they dont even fit correctly. Even on the impact in your photo the cut-outs have been lazily done so they dont match the vents. Someone is making those out of their home shop for sure.

You just described the quality of every tool truck boot. Lol Have you looked at the cut outs for vents on a snap on ct761 boot? Look up images of Mac’s boots for their impacts. It’s identical in terms of fit and finish.

Milwaukee hands down makes the best boots. But I’m not interested in paying $44 for a rubber boot on an impact I seldom use. I think for $20 shipped is fair for what this is. I've watched some of their youtube videos, and based on their inventory, it seems quiet a bit for a home shop/garage operation. Wherever it's made, it's like any other boot off a tool truck. I get my snap on boots for free, so I could never complain/compare them to Milwaukee's boots.

Thanks for turning me onto these jaw protectors. Been looking for something like this including on Knipex's site and could never find anything. There's not really many great options for soft jaw pliers and the few times I need something like that these would work just as well if not better. Hopefully they have them in different sizes!

Funny - I was in the box store over the week and wondered if something like that was available for my Cobras and pliers wrenches...

Sadly it seems like they're only made for 10" Cobras and Pliers Wrenches. It'll still be handy for me to have and I'll see if I can make them fit my bigger ones but it would be really nice if they had a variety pack with an assortment for different sizes, or if you could buy for different sizes. Anything I can turn with a 10" pair of pliers is something I'm probably less likely to damage in the first place.

I have the 250 model in both, so that's fine, though having it for the smaller ones would be very useful too. Odd choice to only to do the 250mm IMHO...

Vinyl jaw protectors. They come in handy for me sometimes. Had them for my RoboGrips back then.

Here's the RoboGrip ones. Although they're molded for jaws and has a different angle at the tips, because of the triangle shape I could still flip them & get double life out of them. Can't do that with the Knipex ones unfortunately but I'm not complaining. RoboGrip ones came in 2 sizes, I hope Knipex makes different sizes too someday.

I tried looking for more of the RoboGrip ones off & on but the times I did find them on ebay people want outrageous money for them.... and they weren't even listed as rare or antique!

I've got one of the older orange ones, looks exactly the same & same size. It's been well worth the money I paid. I use buffing wheels & rouge from Caswell. Mine gets kinda of hot if I use it for long periods of time but it's never died on me. Runs smooth too, no vibrations.

That is good to hear that id the only thing i was wondering about was the vibration. And the robo grip pliers i have the sets my mom got me for christmas years ago and still got the soft grip ends that came with them also.

Wow I didnt realize they'd gone to $44. I thought they were capped at $29. I dont blame you, even if you had to do a little cleaning with a razor its worth it based on principle just to not buy a piece of Chinese rubber with a production cost marked up by 10,000%.

I never bought many boots for cordless primarily since they lagged so far behind the release of the tool itself. My 761 was pretty well worn by the time they came out with boots for them. Most of what I have in boots is pneumatic.

After seeing the reviews it got on GJ, I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a set of Capri tools. The price more than doubled due to transport and customs costs to my country (Spain) but I think it was worth it.

The Jetboil/MSR ones are $10 in any outdoor/camping store also. Never buy those from Amazon.

I didn’t. That was just a pic for everyone to see what I used. I paid $9 for a one pound Jetboil canister at Bass Pro Shops.

My Miller Digital Infinity showed up today. Good grief what a huge step in quality and clarity compared to my $80 welding helmet.

It's been a while since I've posted anything, so here's an update for the past couple months. Got some extra cash for birthday/anniversary so I splurged on these Milwaukee ratchets. I sure love them! They work so much better than air.
50964228686_1497e0b6e0.jpg

Gradually over time a few sockets have grown legs and walked away, so I picked up a full set of 3/8 deep sockets from Tekton. Huge range on these! I'll add 3/8 standard and a full set of 1/4 drive over the rest of the year.

KRL1032 for the home garage. It’s my first 30” deep box...didn’t know how much I really needed that.

That Miller digital welding helmet looks awesome. I’ll have to look into those.

Those Wright wrenches will serve you well!

You're really going to like those Wright wrenches - great choice.
On the wrenches it took a while to decide....I was stuck between them, SK and Proto.....I think the deciding factor on them was that they were made in the great state of Ohio where I reside....the SK ratchet I love so far....really nice

1032 is a great box with a very nice layout. I can't handle workout out of those 20" deep boxes where the drawer only comes out 18". Best color for a snap-on box is always classic red.

Nice! I really like my SK and Wright’s. The Wright’s have some heft to them. The finish on the SK’s and Wright’s is outstanding. I hope these will be passed down to my grandchildren some day. 49d75545730a49580940a0dbf1ed5f08.jpg

Yeah it’s been great since it came yesterday. Been looking for any reason to weld lol and apparently Miller has come a long way with the headgear. It’s quite comfy and holds the helmet in place very well.

Also, this Gearwrench 15/16 Reversible ratchet wrench showed up today.

Dropped my shop laptop last week, breaking the screen and case. Panasonic toughbook via ebay is the replacement. Heavy as hell but all I need is internet and picoscope software.

Never had the need for my own as previous employer supplied a good DeWalt 20V one. Place I've been working at the past 1.5yrs supplies air power ones that aren't continuous flow and I hate dragging lines around for greasing.

Decided to give this thing a try after getting some positive feedback from others in my field of work. With the 30 day satisfaction guarantee I felt good about being able to return it if I end up not being happy with it.

Drooling over your box. Would love to have that nice deep box! I have a 46” HF series 1. Fine box gets me by, but man I would love to have yours.

I use mine every morning greasing whatever machine I’m running. Half the guys in the company are to lazy to grease so it gets a workout from me. I love it. I ordered a lock n line to put on it. Way better for what I do. It’s nice being able to lock on the zerk when it’s in a funny spot or at a bad height.

I'm really hoping it will be good enough for my needs but pretty sure it will do just fine. I've read the zerk coupler end is pretty cheap and doesn't last long...... I'll replace it with a high quality one. I've used a locking style before and they are handy, a great concept. Unfortunately they are more bulky and sometimes won't fit in tighter areas I need.
