Well i just happened to jump on ebay to check listings of speed master tools in case someone was selling some things to help me complete sets.... Every once in a while I get lucky... i have already sent the seller a message asking if i can perhaps combine the shipping.... The first lot has an speed master extension in it along with a bunch of plomb ! The second ratchet lot, which is actually labeled as speed master is what I believe is a 3/8 ratchet, 1/2 extension and also a 1/2 drag link socket

Smoke, I just picked up a couple of 8-point sockets (1/2, 5/8) and a drag link socket for you. I will throw them in your bucket.

The way it's looking, you are going to be doing a fair bit of trading to pick up that bucket!

That is awesome! For whatever reason I cant find any extensions or hinge handle aside from the extension I found above but I know one will pop up. I appreciate you putting those in the bucket. At this point i think it has more become a full size garbage can

In other carry box restoration news, I got the clasps and springs separated from the donor box and got paint laid down. You can separate these from the hasp without drilling out the spot welds... I will get these aged and get them on the box and that should complete the restoration of the box. I will take some more pictures once I get my tools I just purchased in it and get the latches on.

I found a few pieces of PowerKraft in a small 1/2 socket set of Indestro -Select-.

The PowerKraft are on the left photo. I did not find a PowerKraft thread when I searched .

I found the box in a local thrift store.

The hand carry box had some other vintage hand tools also.

I got my lots off ebay and got the tools sorted and in the box...I got these 8 pt sockets, extension, drag link socket and also got the seller to throw in some deep sockets as well. I haven't seen the deeps before but know that it would be logical that they would be sold.... I also got the latches on the on box so now at least the box is complete... I still need more pieces for the set itself but we are finally getting somewhere. I got the minty fleet branded ratchet in one of the lots. Interesting how this 1/2 drive one follows the fleet branded one while the 3/8 one is the oval shaped...

I will toss it into your bucket!

I do have one but i do know someone who would be tickled pink to get one...I would be over the moon to find a hinge handle and the associated u joint!. I appreciate you putting it in the bucket :):rocker:

OTG, what are the dimensions on that box? I just picked up an old Challenger square corner box, which I cannot find in any catalog I have access to. But that one looks suspiciously similar.

Speedmaster stuff is not super easy to find. Far less common than craftsman stuff.

"Far less common than most craftsman stuff :) There I fixed it for you :) But yes, most folks dont really pay attention to the speedmaster stuff... I know I have passed up quite a bit of stuff over the years... At least now I know how to determine if it is wright made or if it was pennens made

Well my ebay purchase arrived... I have been hunting this exact box for 3 years since I found a 1/4 drive ratchet and some loose sockets for $5 at the swap meet in a bucket of water... Now it looks like I shall have extras :) I still need to inventory this set and get it cleaned up but I am super excited to get this one! It even has the often missing T handle and long extension.. I saw it within a few hours of it being listed and sent the seller an offer of $40...he countered at $45 and I couldnt pay fast enough! No owners markings either! Now I need to find a 3/8 drive set to go with my 1/2 drive carry box.

Nice. That's always easier if you can find the complete set!

I think this set is complete but i don't have access to the catalog's? Anyone know what all came in this set ? I hope someone has a 40's MW catalog that might be able to steer me in the right direction. I would think this set also came with a short extension and possibly a universal joint ?

That is what mine came with. I think it's complete, but a catalog reference would be nice

I looked back at your set and I didn't see a universal joint or a hinge handle ? I wonder if these sets didn't come with them ? Or was it something you bought separate and not many folks did that ?

The 55 56 powermaster catalog shows wright made speedmaster sets on page 42, similar to these.20210309_210304.jpg20210309_210343_copy_1008x756.jpg20210309_210259_copy_756x1008.jpg
