I know this may be a long shot but was wondering if anybody ever saw a pic online anywhere for a home built, heavy duty all metal work bench that either folds up, telescopes, collapses or all of the above. Something where maybe the top flips down and hangs vertically and the legs telescope inside each other, so while not in use it takes up a small foot print.

My Atlas Kwikbay 7K scissor lift does that. I recessed it into the floor for best effect. It makes a great assembly table for heavy items.

No more than 6 feet long and maybe 24” deep or so. Would love to build one that folds and is on wheels so it can be moved.

Select one of the many wooden, foldable workbench designs and build it with steel or aluminum tubing. Here's one example...

Build a heavy-duty version of this workbench.

I have two Skil X-Benches which I use as job-site work tables or a platform to stand on. The design of the X-Bench is clever.

I built one a couple years ago from a heavy duty miter saw stand. I leave it setup most of the time but it is nice to collapse and clear the floor space for parking a car. There is a link to the build in my signature.

You could build a gate leg design, fold up or down dependant on hinge placement. This would be hinged to the wall so not portable but are usually pretty stout as long as you don't lift it off of the gates anchor pins, but those could have a dead bolt to prevent accidental disengagement. I had envisioned a single sided one hinged directly to the wall, but an actual table could be made portable too. Harry

I had a 6' folding aluminum table, the legs fold into each table half, very portable & light weight, I post a pic when I find it. This looks like it might work...

I saw one on a youtube channel called sarahntuned today on a video she put out but can not recall the details on it. It had a wood top though. Looked like it had a sturdy metal frame but also the ability to fold up against the wall. You can check it out here. It's pretty early in the video...

I also have the Skil X-Bench, mine is 15 years old, still going great. I have been wanting to pickup another one, but have been unable to find them.
If you know of a location that sells them, please post it up!
