I have two 9ft doors on a 22ft wide garage and hate them, a single 18ft door would be way more useful. Trying to back a trailer thought a 9ft door is extremely tight, as is pulling in a full size truck with tow mirrors.

I have both and strongly prefer the two smaller doors. Several people I know prefer the single large door.

I have three 10’ doors with a suburban and 3/4 ton pickup. I would definitely NEVER have a narrower door. I thought it would be plenty of room, it’s ENOUGH, but not plenty. Still have to watch the mirrors on way in and out. If I could, I’d prefer 11’ or more. I can’t see how an 18’ would work COMFORTABLY with two large vehicles. Depends on in if you want it to be doable or be comfortable/easy.

I have an 18'. Wouldn't want it any narrower.

If your truck has tow mirrors you'll hate a 9' door.

My son has an 18 ft door on their garage and you can't even tell it when probably 95 percent of the homes have 16 ft doors. They certainly get 2 cars into the garage easily without going at an angle but it's not a pickup though. I personally would get 2 10 ft doors if possible.

It depends on what you're putting on there.

If just "regular" vehicles, I find that the two separate doors actually gives you more space to open car doors (when inside) because of the extra space you have between the vehicles due to the separation you have between the doors.

But if you have a large dually truck or plan on backing in trailers, etc, then you should probably get the single.

I agree, it really depends on what it's being used for, I have an 18 and I wish I had gone with two 9's. The garage is only used for car parking and when it's 30 below opening the 18' dumps all the heat.

If you just have room for an 18' door, you won't get two 9' doors in the same space since the divider will be at least half a foot. If you don't have room for two 10' doors, I'd got with one big one since it's the most flexibility
