Got these recently: other than an embossed V5 on a cast iron brake mechanism there are no other markings. It is rusty but appears usable. Looks like it should take a 3/8” rope, possibly 1/2. I know how to rig it but I can’t figure out the contraption other than the 2 blocks!View attachment 1IMG_1533.jpg

And now for one with a rope....
This was my grandfathers, and has been hanging in my garage for over 30 years. I remember watching him stretch fence using his B Farmall as the anchor point while he stapled barbed wire to the hedge posts. Thanks for the trip in the wayback machine.

Sorry but I have no idea. I do have an uncle that might well have used it. I'll bug him about it, but I don't know how long that will take.
