I am looking for a new vice and have looked at the Wilton receiver vice adds, I also found one by Baileigh and Olympia

Has anyone used these and what are your thoughts

i have the wilton on my bench and i love it for the most part. the one thing i absolutely hate is the handle. unlike 99.99% of vises out there, this one doesnt have a sliding handle. its always hitting my drawers (where i have it setup)
I was going to start to build a new end setup so i can put a normal handle on it lol

I guess it depends on what you'll use it for. I haven't used it but it looks pretty flimsy. Fireball tested one against other vises and while he might have been borderline abusing them, it doesn't seem to fare well against others.

Look at yost, they still have a USA line and make some nice vises puts their imports look pretty good, always well reviewed.

It does seem strange and it's tough to get used to as well. BUT.... there's a reason for it. Their rational is so the handle doesn't slide/move like a normal handle if you drive the vehicle with the vise in place.

360° LOCKING HANDLE

PATENTED LOCKING HANDLE SECURES THE HANDLE WHILE DRIVING OR REPOSITIONS IT WHILE WORKING

TO OPERATE, PULL HANDLE OUT, ROTATE TO DESIRED POSITION

As far as using a "normal" vise on the Amazon linked support goes. I ordered one of those and ended up sending it back to them.

I do wish Harbor Freight would bring back their slide in vise mounts Part # 66260 or I had bought a bunch more of them. The metal cost about what they were selling them for. It must have been 2/3 years ago that they discontinued them.
