I am looking for a special application tool. I work on some old rusty **** sometimes. It's often necessary to take a cutoff wheel and make a slit in the top of a bolt that's completely rounded, or something like a carriage bolt that's spinning freely in rotten wood.
I need what I can only describe as a bit flat head socket that will be used on an impact or that can take impacting.
I had a bit that was hex shaped that fit down in a socket that had a 1/2" blade width, but I shattered it today on a rusty carriage bolt. It is bigger than a 5/16 impact bit and smaller than a drag link socket.
Does anyone make something that engages a cutoff wheel slit well that can stand up to some abuse? This shattered after three carriage bolts. has no markings, so I have no idea who made it. It's got ball detentes that go in a socket, which was nice. Pen for size reference
