While we are talking about Beach toolboxes. I would like to tap into the GJ pool of knowledge. I have a Beach box 27" x 18 x 34. It is missing a slide. Can I order a replacement from some where or is there some other brand that will work.

Hey guys, so I recently inherited an old tool box of my grandfathers and the key is nowhere to be found. I looked all around the box trying to find the model number and finally found on the back (Mb 5035 K4). I’m unfamiliar with mac tools and have no idea when this was even made. I’m also having a very hard time even being able to get a replacement key. The number on the lock itself is 2426. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys

It's either one of these two MB503- if width is 23 1/2 inches wide
MB903-if width is 30 inches wide

So you're thinking the best bet would be to get a locksmith to make a new key?

PROP: I do like Huot boxes and love the color too. that said yours it getting pretty tall and even up here in the PNW we have to put on EARTHQUAKE STRAPS so you might do so or make a few stacks or a big bench for yours.

I'm new here and couldn't find the "introduce yourself" thread but this turns out to be ideal. I just scored this Facom box for $25.00. It looks like you would expect it to look, but the drawer slides are smooth and the casters roll easily.

Awesome find for $25. Certainly rises to the "you ****" plateau...

I actually looked twice at a listing near me for the same Facom roller offered at $325 before deeming it not in my price range.

I’d start by sending a close up picture to easykeys.com (or similar company).

They can help id your lock and may even guarantee it’ll work. I’ve submitted a few lock identification requests with them and am about to decide if I should pull the trigger or get a handful of replacement cam locks keyed the same.

It looks like late'70s to early '80s. The drawer pulls indicate the era.

Its not very practical, can't see in the top drawers or top tray area. I'll wind up pulling it out.

Either that isn't that old or the brass plaque was added much later..

Judging from the extra hole next to the brass plaque, I think that is an older unit, but some boutique that sells to hipsters put that "period" plaque on it. Sort of like the license plate frames that used car dealers put on the cars they sell.

They probably picked up one of the original holes for the right hand screw. Phillips screw, at that!

I wish they had left the original plate on there.

These don't seem to, but I have two others that are stamped '80 and '82.

Can't quite make out the badge, looks like Montgomery-Ward? The box looks identical to a '57 Craftsman that picked up recently. I wonder if there's a manufacturer stamp inside the bottom drawer?

Does anyone recognize the make of this roller cabinet? Owner thought it was Craftsman but closer look shows Proto on the drawer pulls. I have no other info besides this one photo.
