question - does hd sell heavy duty or better tarp 45x30 or larger?
If so, is it ever on clearance? I need pool cover, safety ones are too expensive, want to try tarp.

thanks

Not sure what size tarps your local HD, but items only go clearance if they are stopped being sold or along the same lines, seasonal, which I doubt tarps would fall under.

I'd bookmark a few large tarps on Amazon, and check for some warehouse returns.

Went by HD yesterday and there really wasn't anything exciting on the clearance section nor around the store :(

Just picked up a Milwaukee wheel barrow for $25 from Bellport HD. They have 11 left, but up on pallet in garden center. Assembly required. Worker said they might be shipped back tomorrow. This wheel barrow definitely not worth anywhere near the $100 plus it originally sold for. But for $25 to the $38, absolutely.

Nothing great, but these gloves are pretty nice. They do leave your hands yellow though...

I can't see in the online pics (at the HD site), does that multi tool have anything to attach it to pants (belt clip, keyring hole, etc.)?

That's a great price, but my main use for one of those would be on a boat, and I'd definitely want it to be attachable / detachable.

Also, where in the store did you find them? BS shows a few in my area, super low stock.

Thanks.

BS shows a handful, no prices. There are some pretty awful reviews for it, though.

Don't get to HD as much as I used to before covid, but needed some stuff for a project.

Perused the clearance stuff, not many really good deals.

But got this turkey fryer for half off at $35.

Alexandria, VA store, there was one left down toward the garden area on the end of the aisle.

Edit: wrong one in screenshot, it was a RiverGrille brand, looked similar to screenshot. Not showing online, must be a closeout.

That's interesting. How do these LED panel compare to those CFL tube sold in HF? Thanks!

It should last a lot longer than CFL. More fancy versions of LED panels will allow you to select the temperature color.

I have a heart attack everytime I'm in Home Depot now and look at the prices of lumber. My local lumber yard is cheaper than they are now and that was never the case before.

Here some useful items on clearance that doesn't hurt to stock up on. If Menards is in your area, the 11% HD ($1.00) match rebate knocks off another $1.00 off on your separate purchases so $.83 for a 4 pk of ratching tie-downs!!

Also the Dewalt power washer hose pennyed out in my area a few months ago but I still find them now and then mixed in with the new longer stock.

HD's PCA is my go to see if any clearence items MIGHT be floating in the store but as you know commandeering a HD pc in Appliances or at the Pro Desk is harder nowadays especially with COVID.

I really want to use BrickSeek over the years but never saw any good reason to use it. I seen some recent posts thar mentioned BS so has BS changed in the last year or so that its actually useful?

What I determined many years ago that BS was just a screen scraper of HD's website to get its data. When a HD item goes on its mark down process, those item either don't appear on HD website results for that store OR it says out of stock but there's actual quantity on PCA. With HD's website saying nothing, BS followed the same results.

Does BS have a new data source or did HD changed their website's store quantity display output for their $.03 inventory??

Clearance hd items just show as “clearance” in brickseek, no pricing at all. Only helpful in locating what store a known clearance item might be at, not where it is in the mark down schedule. Pca is a much better way to locate items on clearance.

Here’s an example:

BS is using open APIs, but they do seem to have better information than others. You can imagine that they are "scraping" or using readily available APIS, but they do an excellent job of it. If they can start getting pricing information, they will. I find BS a good resource for clearance hunting HD. in store PCA has better info, but BS is good for planning a trip.

Same here with BS. Really only (marginally) useful for finding small quantities left in stock, then it's a hunt, sometimes they're out of stock due to thefts.

In the past I have used the PCA to look up specific items. For example I will search for Milwaukee and then click on clearance or inactive button. What is the best practice to look at all the clearance items at the store level?

I always do everything I can do myself - without an employee involved - in tracking down clearance. But sometimes getting employees involved is necessary if you need them to look thoroughly in top stock or in locked cages. In my experience, "theft" is the most common excuse you will get from an employee that doesn't want to look and automatically equates "non stock" with "stolen." In my opinion, the larger the item, the less likely it is to be stolen; the smaller the item, the easier it is to be stolen, but also easier to lose track of in top stock or on the shelf.

I am almost always able to locate items if I look hard enough. I can't count the number of times an employee has lost their temper with me because they insist that the item has been stolen and that I shouldn't be looking for it, only for me to cheerfully show them that I've located the item some minutes later. It seems like the primary reason that items end up on super low clearance prices at both HD and Lowes is because they have been misplaced and have not been available for customers to purchase at regular price or higher clearance prices.

This is true for both Home Depot and Lowes (although I find way more clearance at Lowes). Now Wal-Mart, on the other hand...they do indeed have a major problem with theft and their counts are almost never correct. Makes you wonder how much lower the prices would be if they didn't have to account for shrinkage.

it really doesn't matter much these days.. As the days of good clearance items from yrs ago are almost nonexistence these days... and the ones you do see is just some **** stuff nobody cares about.. If you go on YouTube, there is a ton of crazy attention view seekers showing all these deals and what not, even advertising the fake ebay lowes coupon use at HD... Which HD has now not allowing the use of lowes coupon and probably shutting down all the clearance methods or old ways of clearancing...too bad, deal game may be over..

It's a combination of both in many cases. I didn't (want to?) believe the stories of theft in stores that I believed were in "good" neighborhoods. Then an employee showed me a cart full of empty boxes that they found in the store just that morning. People are brazenly stealing expensive tools like mad.

I've also noticed that HD has started putting a lot of Milwaukee inventory behind newly installed cages over the past few months. Never, ever saw that before.

HD and BS sites are both showing those white ones in stock near me, but at $7.99 (not $4.03). I'd load up for the shed and garage otherwise!

Are you looking at the right part number? Neither HD nor BS show clearance pricing online. If you have figured out a way to get them to show clearance pricing, please share.

You may be looking at the 4' fixture that takes tubes, regular price on those is around $7.99

Yes, those 3' white LEDs are on clearance, so the price you would see online is the regular price, not the clearance price. The only way I know to find the actual price at your store is to go to the store.

Pretty much throw away at this price. Cobra hero series walkie talkies for 5.03 as well. Didn’t save that picture apparently.
