Anyone know why the little bulb in my saltlamp keeps blowing?
Is it something to do with salt attracting moisture?

It won't work. It needs incandescent to give off heat for salt block to work.
From WebMD:
Himalayan salt lamps supposedly produce negatively charged ions while water molecules from the air attract to -- and then evaporate from -- the warmth of its surface. Those who believe in the health benefits of these lamps give negative ions much of the credit.

and here I always thought they were just cool lookin glowy rock lamp things
They are.
The "healing effects" is hocus pocus, like most of those Dot-Era oils, engine rebuild in a can, etc.
There's actually a business near here that has a large room built entirely of Himalayan salt blocks. Floor, walls, ceiling, everything. It's back-lit and heated to about 75-80F.
You pay something like a dollar a minute to sit in there. It was ok. Now I know what a tortured slug feels like.
