Light Switch and Fan Timer Single Gang

I guess my Google-Fu is failing me and I cannot find what I am looking for. we have a set of switches in our Master Bath and have 2 switches on a single gang. These 2 are a exhaust fan and a light in the Shower. I want to replace this double switch with a timer for the fan a keep a switch for the light.

I am sure such a combo exists, just coming up short trying to find it.

“Single gang” refers to the plate or box, not the device, but what you want is a stack switch, or some may call it a combination device.

I haven’t either.

One solution if you have access to the attic where the wiring (probably) is would be to wire the shower light into the same circuit as the room light. Then you would have space in the existing box to put in a timer switch for the fan.
I never really understood why shower lights wouldn’t be wired into the room light circuit to begin with. Maybe in the days before LED lights guys figured they would save a tiny bit of electricity by only turning on the shower light when necessary.

Another alternative would be to tear out some drywall and install a bigger box or another box to hold your extra switch. Hopefully the existing wire would be long enough.

Maybe a wireless switch to control something else controlled now by one of the other switches would solve your problem. That sounds easier.

much easier to switch it to a 5 gang electrical box than trying to find a switch / timer combo.

Since you have 4 gang there... and 3 other switch are normal. maybe swap them around... make one of the other switch(es) a combo and the free up one or two gang for the one or two timer you wanted. or combine the light and fan for the shower as one circuit.

Or move the double switch over to replace one of the single switches and put the timer in the single spot.

I would get a timer switch for the fan control, and double switch to the left of that with the switch that is there. Get a some Decora switches and they will look nice with the timer

I wouldn't use a regular timer though. I discovered that the wife and kids don't think to turn the timer on. I installed Dew Stop humidity switches in my bathrooms. Hitting the over ride automatically turns the fan on for 30 minutes, but if it doesn't get turned on, it will turn itself on when the steam rises. Granted, the fan is already behind when it comes on automatically, but at least it's running.
