No sure if I missed it skimming through each page. I'm interested in getting a 72" top and bottom box. I'm planning out some new shelving and cabinets for the garage and would like to extend a shelf over the top of my box and still be able to open the top lid fully.

Could someone with a top box post a measurement from the garage floor to the top of the box lid when its fully open?

Kinda bringing this back from the dead...sorry.

At any rate I have a few questions for those with the 54" rs pro bottom box.

1. For the top drawer whats the height(length) of the tallest item you can fit in there? (nominal drawer depth being lower then clearance)

2. For the shallow drawers on the left side same question as above.

Hoping to use the top drawer for all my sockets standing up and the left ones for some foam cutout tool organizers i have already.

Tanks in advance.

I have the 54 top/bottom. Unfortunately it's under my tire rack which as I recall doesn't allow the top to open quite all the way. So as it sits currently with the top touching the tires it measures at 73.5".

If nobody else chimes in I could move the tires later this week and extend the top fully.

I have a plastic box that is 4.5" tall that just skims the metal rail as I close the drawer. If I remove the padded drawer liner it clears easily.

The tallest thing I've put in those left drawers that I can recall are the shallow Milwaukee Packout boxes. Around 2.5" tall. I used to leave them in there unlatched and I had to remove the drawer liner to keep the lids from scraping the rail.

I believe with the Packout boxes latched shut they fit with the drawer liner in place.

Man, the prices increases on these have been brutal.

I paid right at $1,500 for a 41" combo in the fall of 2019, they're listed at $2,500 now.

Still $1560 at Napa. But I’d expect all the prices to jump quick. Steel is insane right now, our costs are up 20% since December and suppliers only honor quotes for 24 hours.

This is the inflation that’s going to wreck things. Average consumer goods will double in cost very quickly.

Was looking around Summit and noticed their home brand 72" box. What are the odds this is a 72" homak? The dimensions and stated volume are identical. Only looks like casters and handle may be different.

:dunno:

Similar and could be made by Homak. Would be interesting to see drawers open.
Call them up and ask them, sometimes they are straight forward and will tell you their supplier.

So less than a month after buying Homak does a 30% off sale, could have saved me a couple hundred more and free shipping. SMH can't win for losing.

I went and seen the Icon 73" in person and have been fence sitting for a while, to the point most places say Homak is out of stock and price increased. I finally made room in the garage for a new box but I can't make up my damn mind. I like the drawer layout more of the Icon, plus the power tool drawer for all the Milwaukee stuff I've accumulated. I do not however like the price of it. I suppose the decision is even harder considering I have not been able to see the Homak in person to decide if the big price difference is worth it. I'm only going off photos and youtube reviews.

Forgot to update. Ordered the Black 72" from Napa before the Q2 Deals ended. Delivery expected mid-september. Q3 prices jumped to $2055 with the stainless top.

Nice.

We recently had a new NAPA open up they've got a good selection of the Homak RS Pro boxes on display.

:ROFLMAO: it's true.

Seems like I've just been buying stuff since I moved and bought the new box. Nothing much has needed fixing.

So in using my box lately I feel the top drawer which is loaded is feels like it is flexing as well as the bottom on my 54" RS Pro. Both drawers are heavy.

I need to pick up another 72" RS Pro bottom box in orange. This one will have a top box at some point, so I won't get the stainless top this time.

Any recommendations on where to buy or who not to buy from? Looks like Napa's prices are in line with just about everyone else, and when I bought mine from Napa, they shipped to the store, not my house.

EDIT: Looks like JB Tools is about the cheapest - $2,268 and free shipping. https://www.jbtools.com/homak-og040...YbbMlK2ZRcecLoOf3GxLsbEVNC9jCek8aAqXpEALw_wcB

Bumping this up if anyone’s interested, Summit has the RS Pro 72 on clearance for $1399.50 (black, blue, red only) grabbed one last night.

Summit still got Black or red, pretty fair price for current times and they fairly decent and for my liking better drawer layout than current US Gen£ 72" and the Homak 24" depth and got pretty decent lift latch drawer pulls .
