I need a contractor/flooring company to redo my 3 car floor. 2 bays have 25 year old 2 part epoxy and it has a long crack that runs the entire width which has caused sinking of approx 1 1/2” at the low spot. 3rd bay was an addition and is bare concrete poured in 2005 and has shifted slightly so the two floors don’t exactly meet anymore.

Would like to find a reputable company that can deal with the crack/ sinking issue, grinding old coating and installing a new coating over the whole thing. Too old to tackle any of this myself. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

That’s a lot of settling.
Are you prepared for somebody to tell you that to fix it properly, you’ll have to jackhammer all of it out, excavate, compact, put in gravel, compact some more, and then pour a new floor?
Hopefully somebody can come up with a less expensive alternative.

Yes, I’m prepared for just about anything. I’ve had a few different company’s look at it but none of them can do it all. One said tear it out, another said they can mud jack no problem, another said mud jacking would lead to very uneven transition from one bay to the other. Not sure who to believe.

I consulted with a mud jacking company regarding a couple of very old 6x6 backyard patio slabs that had settled several inches and were now tilted. The guy basically admitted that it’s a short term fix and it’s likely that the slabs will settle again in a few years.

Thank you to the original owner of my house for pouring these slabs over uncompacted fill! :headscrat:sad:
