Just wanted to say thanks for the hard work Ryan - I’ve been your side of one of these migrations in the past, and it’s a tremendous amount of work, that largely goes unappreciated. I’m liking the speed of the new platform, mobile is great too. Congrats sir, hope the heavy lifting is done…

I can’t say enough how I like the new software. Feels right at home to me since I’m familiar with it. I’m digging the reactions too man. Also compared to the old site this one is much easier to post pictures on.

Some feedback.
- The new font is nice and clear.
- Information density still a little lower on my old school 1280x1024 monitor.
- I'm getting a weird popup saying "pixelexit.dev is requesting my username and password" every time I select a new sub forum. I click cancel and it goes away (and everything still works), but the popup comes back every time I switch to a new sub forum (like General tool discussion etc). Screenshot below.

I can't figure this one out as I can't recreate it... As such, I've passed it on to a developer that is smarter than me. It will get fixed.

I literally just changed from TNR after all the complaints... We are now using a font that I digitized in college... It's been tested as the most readable font in the world... You might recognize it from the US highway system. It's what they use on highway signs.
Well everyone who complained about TNR is wrong 😂😂. In reality I dont really care, font ain't too bad. I guess I dont like it since I dont like those speed limit signs 😎

It's got something to do with our base style... But I can't find a reference to it anywhere... Could you try deleting your cache, logging off and then back in? If you don't mind, let me know.

Is there an option for users to change the font at their end? I am seeing an "Ariel light" type font which appears as gray on a white background.
After reading the seven pages of comments, my eyes hurt like hell.
Apparently you've already changed it once.
I do not find a "style" under "preferences". Running W 8.1 with Google Chrome here.
Back in a bit I have to rest my eyes.

Kudos Ryan, great job mate!

When I saw the site was down for an upgrade yesterday, the hairs stood up on the back of my neck, I nervously crossed my fingers and toes, and wished you all the luck in the world. I've been through many major system upgrades, and man, I am not envious of what you've just been through.

I was frankly amazed to see the site back online this morning, seriously well done!

I can see you've resolved a bunch of minor issues already, and there's a few remaining bugs, but honestly, I am SUPER IMPRESSED with how well everything works straight out of the gate.

Cheers.

I will look into adding those features after I stabilize the joint. Promise.

After I posted instructions on how to find the style and change it, Ryan changed the default font to what you see now and took away the style option, so now those instructions don't make sense. It's ok though, the end result is much improved!

Not exactly. I had the style chooser turned on and forgot to turn it off until I launched. So, some of you had it cached...

@Ryan - Only been poking around for 20 odd minutes everything looks great.

One thing, looking at my user profile I only see a list of threads I've started? Used to see a list of my actual posts which was one of the ways I followed threads..?

I used to moderate a forum years ago, I know what a thankless job it can be especially with upgrades, so, thanks!!!

Thanks for looking into it Ryan. It looks like it has something to do with an old computer and a very outdated version of firefox. On same (old) computer running Chrome I don't get the problem, and on a newer computer with current version of firefox also no problem.

IT could very well be a cache issue then... IT's super strange.

Thanks for the font change. Sooo much easier to read.
While we appreciate the responsiveness, you probably seriously need some rest about now....

For those unhappy with the font, go to your preferences (drop-down from your user name at the top) and change the "style" to "stock XF 2.2 style". This is more like the old forum and waaaay easier to read.
I don't actually see that option under Preferences.

EDIT: Never mind, I see it's been removed and the font locked to Interstate Condensed.

I got about 2 hours left in me at this point... Been up 39 hours straight... But once these support emails are answered, I'm gonna eat some Chinese food and crash for a solid 12.

Haha, It's about mid day here in Australia, but I've looking at the time zones and wondering just how much longer you were going to last. :)
Must have been a long day.

Hey Ryan,

My previous terse comments about XenForo in general and the font issue aside, this is a nice implementation and very usable. Nicely done. Go rest, we can wait for the details.

Netcraft tells me you're using Litespeed. Is that just the load balancer, or are the back end servers Litespeed as well? Just curious.

I run all of my servers off litespeed... I get better performance over Apache... I'm not a server software guy, but I've been able to manage it ok...

Just noticed a minor issue. I see that many people who've been on this forums up to 10 years are listed as "New Member". Is that just me or is everyone else also seeing this?

Breezed through most of the discussions and I appreciate the new format so thank you. Now if Ryan could only be convinced to add a dislike button. 😂

With that crew in Free Parking? Hell no... they'd figure out how to make likes and dislikes political somehow... I swear it. 🏁 :)
It’s a shame it has to come to that. Having a like button is a great way to show support without adding non-value added posts - and for that thank you. And please don’t close free parking - I love reading train wrecks while bored. It’s my version of trash tv while chilling with the wife... While she watches trash tv. 👍

I run nginx for the same reason. Apache has a lot of market share but it's not the speediest.
