I left this in my YJ. I hadn't needed it for a while so I was gonna pull it out and put it in my tool box. Moisture had found it before I did. I'll clean it up and put it in the box.

Side note: The S-O ratcheting screwdrivers admittedly do not have the greatest/smoothest ratcheting mechanism but my new Orange/Black is the smoothest of the bunch that I have.

Your black and orange looks great and very fitting with the Halloween season! I learned on GJ how to take the ratcheting screwdriver apart and added a tiny bit of super lube to the mechanism and they (I have 2, a black and a red) are very smooth and much quitter. You may want to try that on the ones that you say are not smooth

The older ones I've used seem to be much better which leads me to think that when they wear in they get better, because I don't believe the mechanism changed.

Just took a new picture of my collection. It's definitely growing. I've added a bunch of NFL ones and just today won a brand new in original packaging clear one. This is the unicorn of ratcheting screwdrivers. I can't wait to get it.

With that being said I will be selling the clear one that I currently have. It's not brand new and shows some signs of wear, but it's in pretty good shape. If anyone is interested let me know and I can take some pics.

I believe you're correct. My 24 y.o. driver is buttery smooth, but my new ones aren't quite that smooth yet.

Having disassembled all of them, the new ones are identical to my oldest. Something that I did notice was that the collar (for lack of a better word) was tight on the screwdriver shank on my 3 new SDs, which was causing considerably more backdrag than my old one. I enlarged the hole just a little and they're much better.

Just got a few new ones in the mail. Two that I have never seen before, so I jumped on them. The 60th Anniversary Canadian and the 70th Anniversary with gold lettering are both ones I've never seen. Also added the Honda and Grand Prix Edition. Now if the post office would just deliver my clear one all would be perfect!

Regarding smoothness, I opened both my black and red ones. The black one is much older by about 25 years and the red one is about 15 years old, I used a touch of Super Lube on both and they seem much quieter and smoother.

Finally got my clear in the mail today. I thought USPS lost it because it took 17 days to get to me from two states away. They did manage to crush the box, which ***** because this this was a pristine never opened package and now it has some tears and crush marks. Not the end of the world, but it would have been nice to keep it in good shape. Of course the first thing I did was open this sucker up and now it is proudly sitting on my wall with the rest of them.......

That's quite a varied collection. I have a black one that I have had for about 35 years or so and I was gifted a red one from a good friend about 20 years ago. I love them both. But that's enough for me, as mentioned it can get to be a slippery slope
