If the Chinese design and build something I can't source from a North America manufacturer I might be tempted to buy it. I have been pleasantly surprised several times in the past, with some of their products. The throw away mentality and "bang for the buck" products have got us by the short curlies and it is just human nature to be frugal with our money. I have seen a trend, especially on GJ of folks willing to spend much more on domestic quality tools and I hope that continues with all other products. We will all benefit in the long run if we can resist the lure of cheaper products from China. I feel the tipping point has been reached and we have become much too reliant on China.
