Hey Strouty,
IF you get a chance to post a picture of the sink, I'd like to see it. I think you bought exactly what I'm looking for and have been holding off on ordering until you got yours so I could see what you thought of it.

A lot of people have been fined bigtime for commercial use of a drone on youtube.

And on a slightly related note, a lot of aspiring rappers have been arrested for possession of a stolen weapon when the police have run the serial numbers on the guns they are waving around in their super hi res videos.
In Miami, I guess it’s a new fad for rappers to see shooting security guards and othe people.
At least two were arrested last week.

I keep thinking it would be cool to learn old school lettering and paint the front of the drawers that way.... but who am I kidding, I don't have time for that - so - I embrace the little label maker, or the masking tape and sharpie method.
I'm not smart enough to know these drawer labels won't change a few times before I'm "done"

Your Lista collection is the best I've ever seen

Thanks Milner, long term I am probably going to use the labels on magnetic strips, then I can easily move them, short term will definitely be the blue painters tape and a sharpie. I am willing to bet that the drawer layout will change more than a couple times before I actually like the way it is. Still need to get the uprights done before I can worry too much about that. ;)

I will snap some pictures of it when I get to the Hill. It is a pretty decent sink for the money, the welds look good and they smoothed the edges pretty well too. It was the smallest big sink I could find and the price was pretty decent, would have been nice to find a used one, but I wasted a lot of time looking and never found what I wanted.

The sink is a bit wobbly, but once it gets attached to the wall it will be fine. After the entire delivery fiasco with the faucet, it showed up yesterday at the Hill instead of California.

The sink is 24” square and 14” deep overall width is a about 53” it would end up being about 30” off the wall, probably a bit more than I needed, I think I could have been fine with an 18” sink. The drain board has a huge curve and tilt to it, so water will definitely drain into the sink.

Also just wanted to say the multiple pictures still *****. Trying to get the space between them is not easy, I click and it highlights the image, but no keyboard, click again and it jumps to the top of the page?? It took several attempts and an extra 5 minutes to get those images loaded, tapatalk would have been seconds instead of minutes. :(

The Camp might be rented for 30 days, they asked for a discount, so I told them $800 off since we don’t have to do a full cleaning each week. Would work out nice, the listing agent wasn’t sure what would be a good discount, I didn’t want to give them a free week, I feel like I would do that if someone wanted to rent for the entire summer.

I am over at the Salvage Garage and I forgot to take a measurement, so now I will have to come back again, I found some steel that may be the ticket for the Lista wall, will try and make a mock up this weekend, I have some more hardware that should be here tomorrow, of course I have several things that need to be done at the Camp, so I may have to do that first.

First summer for actual rentals, last year COVID kind of killed it, we rented it to the winter tenant at a drastically reduced rate, before that it was just random family and friends. It has only been around for a few years, Dad wanted to buy it since it is next door to his actual camp/second home. The new company we are using to rent it out will be great, they do both summer and seasonal winter rentals.

Thanks for the sink pics. That is almost exactly what I need for my shop but at 53" it's just a tad too big. Perhaps the 18" version would be just fine. I have been looking for a used sink for way too long and I think I just need to follow your lead and buy a new one. Can you post a link or just tell me where you ordered it from?

Thanks

That looks like a very useful sink. I like the drain area on right and the facet. That little blue cart behind sink is perfect for my needs and I have a Benjamin burning a hole in my pocket.

Nope, never blame someone for trying.....

I didn't get much of anything done yesterday, I did look at the parts that showed up for the Lista project, I think my 3/8" plate and new coupler nuts will work pretty well. Definitely better than the current setup, only issue is that I need to undo everything we already did. :(

Not too happy about that, I should have done one and really looked it over, but I got excited about it and we went to town installing them. I think in the back of my head I was hopeful that we would have actually installed a couple of the units and I could have started putting things away. I should have known (with my track record anyways) that I was underestimating how long it was going to take and how much time I had to dedicate to things.

Could you have just put a treated piece of lumber down as a shim and been done with it? Seems like a lot of work that may not even be needed at the next place you move these to in a few years.

The next location (if that even happens) has a much worse floor, once I have figured things out with this, it will be easier to do on the original storage wall setup as well as any future setups.

That is why I used hopefully, last time I was confident about something like that, I said “things can’t get any worse”, then about ten minutes later, I got hit in the head with a chunk of laminated beam. I still have a bump on my head from that, pretty much convinced it is never going away.

Just got home, was hanging out with my brother for a while, had some ratchet straps I ordered for him and a few other things. Turned into 11:30 pretty quick, at least it felt cooler than the rest of the day. Tomorrow I will be at the Camp with Dad and his new expensive helper.

The help is not really better, it is an older employee, one that used to work for my Dad back when I was a teenager. Dad forgets that he fired him and thinks he walks on water.

Other than the fact that I hardly slept more than an hour last night, I did get the water cooled pillow setup and after lots of adjustments, I think it will work very well. Today I have more fittings arriving for that setup, so I may be able to get things hooked up for the bed portion too. I definitely did not sweat at all, I will be curious to see if I can get both the pillow and the bed setup so that they cool similarly. It may end up being you need separate units for each thing to get optimal temps. The pillow was perfect at 76 degrees, I tried it all over the place temp wise, part of the reason for no sleep I am sure.

No sleep *****. Good luck and prayers for today. You're a better man than I, cause I'm way too old for that stuff. On the help front, is Dad's memory really that bad?

His memory is hit or miss, you can never really tell, usually it is too late by the time you figure out he has no idea......

Spent a few hours using the leaf blower to move years of pine needles, what a mess. luckily my friend has a sucker trailer and will be able to get rid of everything before the first tenant moves in. I have a mad dash of things to do, we have until Friday at noon and then I can take a short breather, very short, office plumbing is on Saturday.....

Ok, totally changing subject, what brand rechargeable tools do you have and why. Thinking of getting into it and trying to figure out if I want DeWalt or Milwaukee. Figure I'll eventually need 1/2" impact, 3/8" impact, drill, circular saw, 4 1/2" angle grinder, palm sander, and maybe a jig saw. I'm told Milwaukee has a better selection of tools, but they're a lot heavier, and clumsier. I'm told DeWalt has almost as nice a selection and is much more ergo friendly. Thoughts?

I have had porter cable, Dewalt, and Milwaukee. The Milwaukee are hands down better. Dewalt was ok, but didn't have the selection of tools I wanted.

I have all Ridgid 18 volt. I still have the first one I bought late 90 or early 2,000. My attraction is the lifetime warranty, even on batteries. Yes they can be a pain to register, but the last one was a breeze, I’ll let you know soon as I just bought another kit. I usually just drop off at HD tool rental and it’s takes a few weeks, but not a big deal.
The Milwaukee are hard to beat, my son uses the 1/4”&1/2” impact in his business and I don’t think he’s touched air impact in a while.

I agree with uncle willy, I have dewalt by default, they were a christmas present. Milwaukee has so many different tool options. I saw a Milwaukee transfer pump the other day, the guy was pumping diesel from one truck to another, 480 gph. If I ever start over I'll look at Milwaukee.

I am heavily invested in Milwaukee, I have both the M18 and the M12 tools, the fact that almost every charger they make will charge both style battery is awesome, the selection is really good, the support is great, the tools are generally pro level. If I was starting fresh, I would probably go with the Milwaukee still, one thing to know, they make Fuel versions and standard versions of most tools. The fuel version is brushless and has more oompf, it really depends on what you are planning to use them for, I usually opt for the Fuel version if it is available. Nothing wrong with the other type, especially if you aren't using them professionally (or crazzzzy hobby level like me). I use the M12 for most everything I can, the tools are lighter and generally have plenty of power, especially with the larger batteries. The only gripe I have is that they don't have a push mower yet and that makes me mad.......
