Just got my stuff from the last big drop. It's all absolutely flawless and my only regret is not getting a few more things.

Ordered a few hammers on the 16th, and nothing yet. Sent an email to them earlier this week to ask about the order and have yet to hear anything. Guess the waiting game continues lol

I was probably the only person to order the ideal multimeter. Bought on the 23rd nothing yet, but I’m sure sk’s parents will deliver. For the discount on a decent VOM the wait should be worth it.

I almost ordered one too. Waited a day too late. A friend has one at work, really nice meter for the money you paid.

Got these a week or two ago. Only issue was the people in their warehouse who packaged these 5 items in 4 separate boxes.

I wonder if they just have them already boxed up before they even receive orders to save time getting it out of the warehouse.

Either that or they’re worried the ratchets clanging together will damage the “super-krome”. Lol

Except the reason 5 product came in 4 boxes is because two of the ratchets were actually packed together.

Having worked in a place with a warehouse, I know many times the warehouse workers just don't care.

Just got my order. Received the flex head ratchet which was GREAT! Unfortunately, only received three out of six wrenches. Back to SK customer service....

Bought 5 different LP90 ratchets and 2 of them arrived seized up in certain positions. It appears when torque is applied, the switch moves to the opposite direction on its own. took them apart and lubed which didn't help anything.

Also bought one of the old school 3/8" ratchets (#45170) which came completely seized up and wont turn. Took it apart and the teeth on the ratchet body look really crudely machined.

Got my shipment but was missing the battery pliers. Reached out to Customer Service and they were out. Promptly refunded, but I'd rather have the pliers. I've been very happy with all the tools I ordered. Sorry some folks are having problems.

I placed a small order 6/18 and sent an email asking for an order update on 6/30. Got a generic response. I’ll comtinue to wait and hope my order arrives soon. Just sharing the reply:

Thank you for your email, and your interest in SK Hand Tool!
Please note that orders will be processed as quickly as possible, within 24-48 hours. We will send a confirming email when your order has been entered.
Currently we are experiencing higher than normal call and email volumes. We are working hard to provide prompt responses and apologize for any delays.
Best Regards,
SK Hand Tool Customer Service

Now that Jori confirmed that the sale to Great Star was completed, what are the chances my Steals and Deals order of 2 wrenches and a multimeter will be honored? Status on website is "pending"

I'll send them a email, just interested in the opinions of the "experts"

Thanks!!

Was glad I got my 3 ratchets in today from S&D! 1/2, 1/4 drive mechanism is great smooth as my matco 88’s they purrr, light on the back drag no issues with stiff selector. 3/8 selector was different it was tough almost locked up, took it apart and added some oil and worked it a little and almost what I would call in spec still just a touch on the tough side, but overall very happy with all 3 no issues with the chrome either.

I don’t think you will have a problem. The last few Steals and deals I got took a long time to get.

I’m sure I’ll end up getting my order eventually, but kinda annoyed that they haven’t responded to any of my email inquiries after over a week.

Thanks for the optimism...... and relaying your experience!
Even the regular stuff I buy during sd takes forever. If orders are done sequentially my order that was done on 6/11 was 000052918 and my last order on 7/6 is 000057889. I have only 1 order that is complete and one that only 1 line item shipped. Should this be taking this long hell no but don’t know what problems they have with staffing or just bad management. When I place orders when the are not running sd I will get them in a day or two. Compared to no sd order on 5/5 000051046 to 6/11 000052918

Received my ideal meter today, in perfect shape. Good thing I live alone, cause I’m sure I looked mighty stupid running around the house excited probing as many things as I could get my hands on. Probably like it more than my work fluke because I know this one is mine.

They must’ve finally hired somebody in shipping. Got a order I placed for work on Friday and some of my orders came by FedEx today. It’s kind of weird I did not get a FedEx notification for the orders to my house for today.

I'm still waiting on a moon wrench that I ordered on 6/13. I'm also waiting on a socket, an extension, and 2 wrenches to be sent back for warranty exchange. It's been about 6 weeks for those. I'm usually a SK homer. But, I am really disappointed in the customer service. My new lp90 3/8 ratchet came, and its flawless, so at least there's that.

Nice! Based on the reviews on their site, the 3/8” LP90 is the least consistently well-performing size.

Sounds like the sale to Great Star is a done deal. Will be interesting to see what happens next. It’s unfortunate that customer service isn’t up to its usual standards right now, but this has gotta be a pretty hectic time over there.

Order placed on 6/17 is still showing as pending... Order placed on 6/22 was delivered last within a week. Hrmmm....

Most of my 6/17 order arrived yesterday on 7/22, a full 5 weeks after placement. Last few items arrived today. Both boxes has Fedex Relabel labels on them?

Looks like the Steals and Deals section is gone for the time being - maybe new ownership doesn't like this section.

Glad I picked up my ratchets when I did, have to see how the new ownership handles things

A couple of my shipments had shipment exceptions barcode unreadable and had to be reprinted

My buddy had ordered some items on steals and deals around the same time as the rest of us. He as of last week received 3 out of five items. When he finally got an answer as to why the others aren’t being shipped or haven’t shipped the CS rep stated that the other two items were being discontinued and they were out of stock on them. One item was the battery pliers and another was one of the 7” dykes/cutters. He asked if the other items on the steals and deals were being discontinued, they told him that yes some of the other items were being discontinued. He asked if the LP90’s were, he was told they just wanted to get more of them out on the market to get the word out about them.

I have to say I am skeptical.

Sounds believable to me, not that it couldn't change again in the near future. I'm still waiting on one flare nut crowsfoot I wanted and am hesitant to call since I really would like it. Sure got some nice stuff on that last offering.

I got a cancelation on one, I think it was 7/8". They were, at least, prompt to credit me once they notified me of cancelation.

In other news, my 3/8" flex ratchet is a steaming pile. It locks up in either direction and you can't even flip the lever when it happens. It's completely psychotic because sometimes just letting it sit for awhile makes it work again.

I've actually never had a ratchet work this poorly except MAYBE those cheap round heads that used to come in the really small, black blow-mold cases with poorly cast sockets and always inexplicably included the blue plastic spinner disc for the square drive. Quite a comparison for what's supposed to be a top-tier US offering. Good job SK.

They’ve had several years now to work out the kinks with the LP90 design. I considered ordering that specific one, the 3/8” flex, and the negative reviews on their site warned me off.

The 1/2” and 1/4” don’t seem to have such problems (at least going off the reviews on their site), but it’s really not acceptable at this point to be shipping defective 3/8” LP90s.

I’m not a mechanical engineer but I’d love to know more about the process of trying to fix this product. It’s tempting to speculate that Ideal Industries gave them a deadline for solving it, and there just wasn’t satisfactory progress.

Had gotten an email a while back that one of my items was backordered. Just got a refund on my CC now. I guess it's cancelled now?

I've gotten some great deals from S&D but customer service sure has been frustrating.

This. For the price SK charges and how they market themselves as a professional brand, it's ridiculous to keep pushing product with known, long-standing design flaws. It gives you the impression they just don't care.

It's frankly beyond me why anyone would purchase LP90 ratchets, given all the reviews here and everywhere else and the well documented design flaws. SK has never made any attempt that I am aware of to fix the issue, or even acknowledge that there is an issue to begin with. There are so many better alternatives, domestic and foreign made, so why roll the dice with a ****** design from a company that refuses to fix it?
